vrs rear strut braces and anti roll bars

Featured Replies

hi all,

sorry if i sound like i have the hump, but i have just spent the last 3 hours trawling through this site, including doing countless differnt searches but does any one know any thing about the rear anti roll bar and rear strut brace for the vrs?

lets start with the rear anti roll bar. where does it go? how does it fit? is it a diy job? how long does it take? does any one have any pictures of it? every thread i found said that it was a worth while upgrade but i dont seem to be able to find any of the info that iam after!

as for the rear strut brace. well what the frigging hell was that all about. seems like every one was thinking about getting one, but because no body seemed to approve of it, and or say if it made any differnce, no one has one! they all seemed to be worried about putting large items in the boot with the rear seats put down! why, just borrow a mates van!

i found a thread advertising a rear strut brace for free trial from back in 2004. did it ever get produced? how much is it? did it make any noticeble difference?

thansk for all of your help in advance. a lot of you will probably be repeating your advice time and time again as new comers to the octavia get the modeifying bug but lets be honest its a dam sight easier to put up a new thread and ask the questions than to keep on trawling through the site with out too much avail.

thanks again people

Hello

I only know about the roll bar, it fit on by 2 u clamps to rear axle with pollybushes to keep it from moving and then it bolt to the rear hub area

at the shock absorber, some have xtra fixing points so you can adjust

understeer to big oversteer, most poeple stick adjustment in the middle so it keeps everything neutral. Takes 1 hour abouts to fit

Heres the best makes Neuspeed, whitline, eibach,

I think neuspeed has a picture on there site

Wack an Eibach arb on from Jabba, only £140, and well worth it!!!

Fits a piece of p!ss too!!!!

Have a butchers below at the pic.

Whats the tie rap for in the pic ? Surly thats not part of the mounting ??????

I may be mistaken but I think Yarrowsport do a straight bar across the boot, from strut to strut, to replace those small bars that are angled between the suspension housing and the boot floor. I wnt one too, but cannot find one for sale

Whats the tie rap for in the pic ? Surly thats not part of the mounting ??????

The tie-strap was put on to hold the bar in place whilst I was fitting the mounting brackets on; it’s certainly not part of the fitting kit! :D

Let's suppose that I lock you in a cell, and go away and do something to your car. Do you honestly think that you'd be able to tell that what I'd done was remove the rear strut brace by driving the car? Even presuming that you'd had a decent brace fitted, and not one of the ones with hinges and rose joints in it.
