L&K TDi PD130 Brakes

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me the dimensions/part numbers for the disks and pads (front and rear) of the above. And suggest an on-line supplier?

Thanks.

Not sure if its what you want but I use Euro Car Parts, you chose your car and then the requisite spares you need. Make sure you go for the ATE ones or better though, they should be pretty reasonable....

Hope that helps

Thanks, it might help but their website isn't playing ball at the moment.

Found this Skoda Octavia Brake Discs - Skoda Octavia Brake Pads - Buy Online - UK but I don't appear to have ANY front brake code on my cars option list only rear 1KP = disc brakes, rear 232X9MM. Anyone know what the fronts should be?

Euro parts now working, says fronts are 280X22, assuming they mean 1.9TDi 130bhp not kw! Many thanks.

If they thing has FSIII (it will be written in the calliper) brakes i believe they are 280mm * 22mm front and 232*9mm rear.

GSF do brembo disks IIRC

Thanks, I think that confirms what I thought. I'll get down and dirty and measure (the diameters at least) at the weekend and see what really needs doing. Had car serviced today & garaged phoned immediately to say needed front discs & pads - I declined. Strange as rear discs are scored and pads OK and front discs look fine, pads getting low but not critical? No noise/squeals, good peddle feel and no fade. Hmmm.

More confusion according to Hayne's ASZ engine should have 288x25mm FN3.

Don't forget that the pads wear quickest on the inside not the outside on the octy.

What they might mean is that they need changing as they won't last until the next service. If you do get them done or do them it might be worth getting brake fluid changed if it is comming up to two years old too.

I think it's always debateable when to change - obviously before there's a degradation in performance - but I'm only likely to do 3k in that car in the next year (had told them) - the front disc spec. is up to 2mm wear but there is barely a lip on either side - just needs new front pads 'soon' IMO. I'll whip a wheel off tomorrow and check.

There is no front brake option code in the sevice book or the boot list!

The discs are definitely 288x25mm on the car, however there are five screw holes (in addition to the wheel bolts!) but only one lines up and has a screw.

Here Skoda Octavia Brake Discs - Skoda Octavia Brake Pads - Buy Online - UK they list two discs 1LE/1ZE 1screw/5screws. So my car needs the 1 screw disc although it currently has the 5 - does it matter / can anyone confirm????????

And I have no wear indicators on a supposedly high spec. car!

I needed a 2ft bar and all my weight to crack the wheel nuts off. No chance with the skoda supplied brace. It was serviced last Thursday!

The wear indicator on on the front passenger side (UK) brake attached to the inner pad.

Have a look on the calipers as they should have FSIII clearly visible on the caliper if they are this type. If they are then the GSF parts will fit.

You could of course get a quote from your dealer including part numbers and then base it on these part numbers?

No wear indicators/wiring anywhere - may have been snipped? - Doesn't matter anyway.

As said they are FN3 not FSIII calipers (with a pad retaining spring).

The GSF catalog seems to indicate one product (presumably 5 holes) for the two different disc codes so I'll try them thanks Cheezemonkhai.

I have no skoda dealer around here and I will not be returning to the local 'specialist' (ex-main dealer) ever ever ever!

Affriad I can't help you then mate, the sizes i quotes were FSIII and also only had a single hole.

The option code for my 2002 Octavia 4X4's 288x25mm ventilated discs is 1LE. 1ZE is the option code for 288x25mm GEOMET ventilated discs.

Do you know what difference the GEOMET(rical?) refers to, visually? Or which a 2003 ASZ engine is likely to have?

Very annoying that the appropriate option code is missing from my list for some reason - rear disc code is there!
