VW have released information about their forthcoming Polo GT I'll leave you with your thoughts on it.

Polo GT

It's in german, but the important bits are:

96kw engine (about 130bhp):)

6 speed gearbox:):)

Lowered by 15mm:):):)

16" alloy wheels:):):):)

i think i'll let everyone guess the the type of engine for themselves!

And will it cost more than

Where have I seen something like that before?

Just one thing missing. Where is the bodykit?? :P

a bit like the similar seat, you could be driving any old car!

Have you guys seen the new Ibiza due out soon. The FR. Not quite a cupra but it does have the 1.8T in it. :)

Heard about it. It's got the 150bhp version in it and will have a bodykit of some sort.

yea vw are copying skoda....get a grip guys

ah, but skoda copied seat, although the seat and the polo both look like std versions of the car justr a little lower.

Yeah and they carry a higher price tag. Think I read a report in auto-express comparing fabia vrs with ibiza sport, and they thought the skoda was more solidly built inside and out. So why the higher price tag? :D

So why the higher price tag? :D

'cos a lot of muppets out there think SEAT is a sporty brand, and will pay more because of this! :D

I remember that, it's what made me decide on buying one. the vRS is cheaper, has more doors (unless you want to pay even more), looks nicer (in my opinion), has better quality interior, looks different, and is much better specced.

Rob, you're too cynical... NOT! You could argue the same case with VW and Audi as well. VAG marketing - a law unto themselves.

But the VW's price tag will be even higher! You are already looking at over

Ah, but VWs are solid reliable vehicles built with the best German engineering available. Or at least, that's what the highly-paid VW marketing excutives are saying... :D

The answer to this is that VAG is split into two companies, Volkswagen and Audi.

Audi controls:Audi, SEAT, Lamborghini.

VW controls:VW, Bugatti, Bentley, Skoda

that is where all this cross martketing comes in as they are all after each others customers, and the only difference is how much you pay for the brand and the value you get for the money. Seat seems to be placed inbetween Skoda and VW for cost and value, whereas vW is now trying to steal customers from audi, BMW and Mercedes by going upmarket.

It's all very confusing and cannot be a very harmonious relationship.

I agree about the apparent quality of materials, but when the only visible difference is on the interior, there is no way that the VW will be worth more than
