Tried to fit AERO wipers but impossible ?

Featured Replies

Hi all. just been to local shop who got me a set of said wipers but they wont fit my wiper arms, the ones fitted to my car are a U shape on the end, what sort of connector or wiper arm needed to fit these blades, any picks a great help.

On the M62 this morning and the weather was rubbish, need to get some decent wipers fitted asap.....

Cheers

PS, what do people use to clean there windsheild, everytime my wipers run over the screen it smears, i tried 1001 things to clean it, any help in this?????

Speak to a renault dealer.

A search on here will reveal which ones fit your fabia, but i think it is the megan or scenic blades. IIRC about £30 for a pair.

Hi, yeh i know about renault ones, do they come with all the fittings needed to fit my arms on my car.

Thanks

PS, are the newer Skodas fitted with different arms.....

I'd also like to hijack the thread and find out what everyone is using to clean their windscreen with... i get smears too, maybe I need new blades...

Proper Aero blades won't fit the Fabia wiper arms (U-shaped) - as you've found out!!

If you do a search, you will find a part number for a set of Renault retro-fit aero "style" blades which are an aftermarket accessory. These will fit the Fabia wiper arms.

Smears are usually a sign of worn blades

get some glass cutter from halfrauds its about £4 iirc

you could try neat alcohol based screen wash to clean the screen (autoglym is good) or has been said above a good quality screen cleaner

Clean the wiper blades as well as the windscreen.

Use neat washer fluid on some kitchen roll and be surprised by the amount of rubbish you will clean off.

This applies to new blades as well.

I clean my screen with rainX glass cleaner, then apply a coat of RainX . its fantastic stuff. most of the time you don't even need to use your wipers after applying it, rain just rolls off and road dirt seems to go with it. i have used it for years.

asda have it in a double pack at the moment for about a fiver.

Agreed, never used the Glass cleaner but the Rain X is awesome. Can you just use normal Glass Cleaner that'd you'd buy for your home to clean windows, class cabinets etc?

Don't use galss cutter if you have any aquapel/ombrello stuff on the screen. It will remove it straight away. If it gets a little greasy, I find some nice hot soapy water does the trick.

Weee uuuu, got me aero wiper blades from

WIPERBLADES.CO.UK : The UK's Premier Online Store

Now the daft question, can we get one for the rear, i replaced the rear one with a standared one but doesnt fit flush anymore. Is the rear one for a 2001 fabia special shape or has anyone got a aero wiper for the rear.......

VAG parts do a kit for the Polo which will fit the Fabia , just over

Cleaning windscreen & exterior glass

For windscreen (grease making windscreen smear and blades drag and squeal) I usually use neat washing up liquid and the green scouring side from the cheapo foam and scouring pads (the 'green' is only nylon so it doesn't scratch the glass).

For the side windows I have (every 2 yrs or so) resorted to a light (very gentle pressure) T-Cutting, you'd be surprised at how much it removes.

Rain repellants - brill.

Applied Halfords Rain Repellant the other day, but couldn't reach a 6 inch strip on rear NS (car was in the garage). Washed the car today and the water ran off river-like on all the glass areas (leaving few tiny beads) except the '6 inches'. There the water covered the strip completely (and I mean completely - it just hung on in its entirety like someone had slapped a big strip of cling film on). The difference on the one window was startling - a true 'before and after' demo.

simple vinger ive used before now. Although Rain X is gr8

Also Would the POLO wiper arms fit for the front??

I use iso-propranol alcohol spray and engineers cloths to clean the glass. Same stuff as you use to clean circuit boards etc. Very effective at removing all grease etc and no smears etc.
