Fabia vrs alloy wheels

Featured Replies

Hi all

Hope you can help.. The Girlfriend has just got a VRs loves it to bits but tonight some one tried to run her off the road.. No dammage done except a scrapped wheel and a chunk out of the rubber... She was shaken up and does not rember the reg of the car so no luck with the police. We have tried..

Shes not had the car 2 weeks yet and i would love to get her a replacement wheel as this is the first new car she has ever had and loves it to bits.. She is cut up about damageing the car so soon and just want to help.

So any ideas where i can get a wheel.. Standard Fad VRs wheel with out the need to cut off an arm would be great..

Thanks

How bad is the wheel? piccy??

I had one of mine refurbed not so long ago.. they did a really good job .. so good I had to look at a before photo to see where the dent used to be... :)

I Drove for 12000 miles then handed the keys to my wife while I worked away, she has put marks on the wheels I would have to work at doing.

Do they really have the same size brain:confused:  s as us? I dont think they do!!

There is a fair size scratch and to be honest i think its easer to just get a new one..

To behonest she is normaly very good with cars.. Have lent her the scooby loads and has always come back fine.. Just with less fuel. Also cant really say this one was her fault.. but yea they do tend to mess wheels up.. :D

When you finally get a new alloy put the scratched one as the spare..... Then you have no need to worry about the 50MPH rule....:)

If the alloy had a directional tyre on it, it would still be limited to 50 mph if it were on the 'wrong' side of the car. It just wouldn't have a label on it.

I undertstand what you are saying but I had a chat with my local tyre company and they told me that fitting a tyre the wrong way round doesn't make all that much differance apart from it would fail an MOT. Not here to get into a debate about it or question your statement. It's what I was told and I didn't really belive them either!!.........Where doe's it say you cannot run a directional tyre the wrong way round at more than 50 MPH on an alloy wheel??...I know it's common sense to us but......................

It wasn't a small dent in my alloy either, but was like new afterwards

Cheaper than a new alloy as well... :)
