Is there a gearknob that will easily replace the factory fitted one in my Octavia TDi Elegance, with some chrome in it to compliment the chrome details in the rest of the car. I would prefer one that was, say leather with just a chrome insert in the top than totally chrome.

I believe the vRS has something like what you're looking for - it's leather

with an aluminium inset on it for the "gate diagram". I think it also

has a vRS logo on it though, which might look a bit silly in a non-vRS

However, it is made to the same design as the other Octavia knobs,

so would suit very well if the logo could be removed.

As for aftermarket ones - I'd imagine most would fit, but in saying that

I'm bordering on advising about something I know nothing about

There are a huge number of aftermarket gearknobs, not least those done by demon tweeks .

I think OMP is one manufacturer that make a gearknob that looks identical to the vRS model ie leather with chrome insert but without the logo.

I have a rather natty Momo Air Race leather gearknob from a previous car. I still have the various different attachments (they come with various "sleeves" which fit onto the actual lever, then the "knob" part fits over that and is attached with lttle grob screws.

Question is, does anyone know how to remove the gear knob? If I knew that, I could try out the other one I have and possibly answer your question.

Do you know if the same fitting applies to the Fabia as I'd also like to replace the standard knob in our Comfort and sort of assumed that another VW Group knob would fit, say off a Polo or Ibiza. If the fitting is the same with the crimped arrangement then I'm sorted!
