Is that a parts bin one, or one specifically for the Fabia?

havent got a clue mate,

i bought it off ebay for my old car (2005 polo gt).

i was looking the other day to see if i could bodge it in the fabia and after much debating i decided to start drilling holes for it to mount to.

It fits quite well and looks almost oem. the only prob i find is that it gets in the way of the handbrake.

Some questions:

Is that from the dealer or a special order? How much did it cost? Part no?

Does it affect gearchanges at all??

Do I like it?

If you look on ebay for this

Item number: 280059284383rtCurve.gif

its one of them with the bottom removed, the unit then bolts onto the center console quite nicley.

doesnt get in the way of gear changes but does the handbrake a little bit,

There is an OEM which sadly isn't available in the UK. I have had one shipped in from CZ and should be fitting it this week.

Thats why Skoda dont fit it as standard

Doesn't stop VW fitting one to the Golf and Bora though!

What is the bracket like that mounts the armrest to the chasis? I have got a golf mk4 armrest recovered in leather, waiting to fit, but the golf bracket is far too wide. Could do with the bracket for a Fabia if it exists?

Cheers Neebsta

You seem to be the main man for contacts.

Don't suppose you fancy sharing, Where from, who from, how much etc?

Forgot to say please :o

The Audi A4 armrest gets in the way of the A4's handbrake aswell so i'd say it's pretty much normal.

I'd be up for one, perhaps a group buy is in order :)

I have installed the OEM one today and it's brilliant. Got some pics that I'll try to put up soon.

Can't divulge the source I am afraid however the person in question is aware of this thread should he be able to help if he can/wants to.

In the interim there is an after market one which was fittied to the car going begging. Pay the postage and it's yours.

Fair enough m8, i'll have to get scouring some czech websites.

BTW what does OEM mean?

Could you not order an OEM one from a Skoda dealer??

I know with Vauxhalls you can order Opel parts such as badges etc from their UK dealers.

It means original equipment manufacturer, I've got an armrest for a bora at home, the plastic surround on the leg slots into the space left over when the rear ashtray is removed, it'd need bolting though somehow as it just flops over otherwise.

PM sent :)

I've just bought one of the Polo ones off e-bay, hopefully it fits as easy as that!!!

Seeing as polos and fabias are family wont they be the same parts then?

Cheers max¿mo, been wondering...

Here are some pics of the OEM one then. It is fully adjustable for position, dont worry about the white marks on it they are dust from a bit of rubber supplied with it.

There are part numbers for most of it except the most important part the very comprehensive bracket setup. It really is a top quailty item.

Wicked, thanks VRStu, was gonna ask if any one knew what armrest was in Czech for searching..

Looks quality.

Looks exactly like my MK4 GTi one, wonder if they're all the same?

Do the brackets just slot into place on the centre tunnel then?

Does the standard rear cup holder section just come apart from the rest of the rear ashtray assembly?

The brackets bolt onto the handbrake mounting and pass through what was the cup holder / tray which you have to cut out.
