Xenon Headlamp cannot adjust

Featured Replies

Is it possible for the headlamp to become disconnected from the hight adjustment mechenism?

Thanks

Not Sure, how are you trying to adjust it?

I don't think so, but it might have seized through under-use over the summer.

If you're trying to adjust it, you need "Der-vagcom" software to do it. It's not just a process of tweaking a screw. Details are on Brisk - do a search.

To find a Briskodian with aforementioned software & cable look for the sticky post member map in the relevant forum. And tweak a few other settings while you're at it! (as usual, beer tokens are the traditional Briskoda way of saying thanks for using said cable, etc....)

the headlamps will adjust normally without the use of VAGCOM , iirc the reason you have to use VAGCOM is that the headlamp levelling requires a new zero set point after adjustment has been carried out

i had to adjust mine without VAGCOM as you can't do it a with a locked version of the software , obviously mines aligned but the levelling might be set incorrectly:(

are you turning the correct screw John ? there are 2 screws , if you turn one of the screws you should be able to see the relector lens moving , then you can work out if that is the correct screw to adjust the aim , up/down or side to side

Which is which.

Had them adjusted at the dealers the other day but on the drive home the drivers side light drop to its lowest setting and became bouncy when driving over bumps.

Tried to do a temp fix myself as it was terrible but no matter which screw I tried the lens would not move. I quick try on the other light and you could see it moving.

Is my light buggered?

Looks like its FuBR. Take it to the dealer

Way ahead of you ;)

sounds like they've adjusted it too far off the end of the adjustment rod or the adjuster itself is broken inside the lamp , either way its down to the dealer to sort as they have done the job

as i said earlier up the thread , i have had to adjust mine myself , due to the minor impact i had last year , working out which screw did what was a pain and for the life of me i can't remember which is which

Dont diss the seats :finger:

But would like my money back for the lights. 04reg clio with Halfrauds specials are 100 times better.

Any news on this John? My xenons are playing up too. They don't seem to adjust up or down over bumps or with things in the boot. Admittedly the sensor has been moved down to avoid the Milltek but it shouldn't have affected it :s

Update.

Turns out part of the adjusting system went awol :rolleyes: So had a new headlamp fitted under warranty.

The dealer has set them to the max height. If you look at the lense it can't go any further up  They now light up all the way down the road instead out 2 meters infront of the car.

Well finally after 3 years of ownership I can finally SEE! Can say their just as good as the Octy II's xenons now.

This is what I paid the extra for
