What should revs be at Tickover???

I have only had my Felicia Gli 1.3 mpi for a couple of days and I'm loving it! Cracking little car for the money (

Autodata CD2 lists 6 variants of that engine in 1996. If you post the engine code -135, 135B, 135M, 136B, 136M - and bhp I will look up the correct idle speed for you. 600 rpm is too low for all those engines.

Any standard head unit from any car audio place goes into the felicia pretty easy from what I remember. Should even be able to get a wiring adapter so theres no messing around with wiring as well :D

There were certainly Skoda CD units made for the Favorit (there was a CD limited edition :D) I should think there would have been cds fitted to some models of the later felicias as well, but I dont really see much point in sticking with genuine skoda stereos.

Just got a standard size mp3 cd player in my Felicia

incidently, there is one of these at Aldi today for

Is it easy to adjust the tickover a little higher or is it controlled by the ecu?

Also, My Skoda stereo has a CD button on it. Could it be that it will run a CD changer? That would be perfect as I like to keep standard head units in cars to stop theives wanting to break in!

The idle speed can be adjusted for two of the six 1.3 variants for your car's year but not the other four. Without knowing the engine code it is impossible to answer your question.

Should be about 800 rpm, clean the throttle body.

Sorry to be a complete moron, but where will I find the engine code?

It should be part of the engine number on the Registration Certificate, eg my 1.6GLX's engine number is recorded as 340***AEE - where AEE is the engine code. It is also stamped on the engine, but don't ask me where on the 1.3!

Well that was well hidden! There's numbers all over the place, finally found it on the side of the engine head. It is a 136M engine code. Can you tell from that as I don't know the exact Horsepower?

136M (55 bhp) - 760 to 820rpm - not adjustable.

Thanks for your help. I think the culprit may be something altogether different. The car seems a little down on power at the lower rev range and it stalled this morning and then wouldn't actually start for a good few minutes.

Having read some other posts it seems to be a fairly common complaint with the felicia and one which I will try to rectify (the culprit) after crimbo. It sounds like it could be the inlet manifold gasket, but I will get an ECU check first in case it is a failed sensor etc.

It only takes a few minutes to check the gaskets for leaks. Spray WD40 on them with the engine running and if the engine note changes it's getting sucked in. Replacements cost about
