Boot netting removal/Amp location?

Featured Replies

Anyone know if it's possible to remove the netting in the driver side of the boot without damaging it? I'd like to fit an amp there and then mabe refit it later (but not sure yet).

Any other suggestions for places to fit the amp? I'd like it to be subtle and out of the way ideally without damaging anything. I already plan to use the other side to fit a sub.

Don't know about the netting but mine is screwed to the back seat on the passenger side rear. I have mounted it at and angle following the strut braces (VRS)

I mounted mine on the right hand side over the wheel arch, mounted to a bit of mdf slipped behind the carpet.

There should be pictures around in the ice section of my install if you want to see it.

Cheers LJ - looked at your pics. I've decided I'm going to mount the amp in a carpeted bit of wood and secure it with vecro behind the neting. Should be nice and out of the way but still easy to adjust the settings on.

Hi,

This is pretty much exactly what was done with my amp. I chickened out and got the professionals to do it, but they did a nice job. It is tucked neatly behind the netting, screwed to a piece of board which was trimmed with grey carpet to match the rest of the car. All the cables are routed under the carpet / trim and are invisible.

I was worried that if it was put on the back of the seat there might be problems when lugging large / dirty / heavy loads.

If you are interested I can post a pic of it, but I guess you'll have your own version to admire soon!

Pics would be good! I'd like to see how it looks before I take the plunge, plus it might give me an idea what to work towards. I bought the grey carpet earlier - not a perfect match but it will be located in the shadows anywaay so I doubt people will notice.

Here's the picture - hope it is of interest!
