estimated 0-60 times after a remap

Featured Replies

Hi

I've tried to search for the kind of 0-60 times you would get after a remap.

I'm looking at getting the custom Jabba 190bhp, what would my 0-60 be?

Looking at stats for the PD160 engine or the newer VAG 2.0 TDI 170, are the Fabia vRS figures going to better than these?

I don't know how much difference the gearing makes - not that I would look to change - just want a cheap power boost is all.

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers

I would have thought somewhere in the region of 7.5-8 seconds post remap. Never done any proper timings myself.

Although, as you've probably seen if you've searched for this topic, 0-60 is never going to a be a diesel's strongest point, you'll notice much more difference going from 30-50 or 50-70 after it's been remapped.

considering the standard 0-62 times are about 8-8.5 I would have thought that post remap you would be able to get 7s?? Ill have to give it a go when its not raining, although I agree the torque produced some lovely times between 20-70 always puts a smile on my face when people are shocked with the devistating power of the furby, well maybe slightly exagerating there but hey, alchol christmas and briskoda mixed together and thats what you get!!!

The Fabia is too heavy for great 0-60 times, but some have managed low 8 secs with just a remap so it is possible.

Pulling away from a 30 to NSL is where it pulls well, not a huge number of cars can keep up...

Simple answer yes - the figures will be similar but as the PD 160 has other toys which make it use the power better it will be amore performance honed car.

or the newer VAG 2.0 TDI 170

Totally different car really. Apparently that engine is a remapped version of the 140bhp 2.0 TDi, but it wont feel as nippy as the Fabia IMO

For the extra cost of say £1000 (including brake setup) the fabia is a great car when remapped for the money no more

0-60 standard is 9.8.

Expect to see 8.5 once remapped.

Its says 9.6 in the book, but we all know the 130bhp is not entirely accurate either.

The standard cars are putting out about 140-145bhp and after a few runs in my old 04 plate without a remap I used to average low 8s so it must be in the 7's going from lets say 145bhp to about 175bhp... surely??

Who starts these rumours?!

7 seconds is a realistic consistent figure. Knocked out a few 6.7's in mine.

Roumours?! confused!

Let's not get into this again. Which rollers are you talking about for 140-145 on a standard car?

I had my standard Fabia on the rollers at JBS in April 05 and got 129.7bhp.

I think the 9.6 quoted time is a little conservative, but not that much....

Steve

Thats what I though around 7's...

No idea, But when I find them... I'll ....

When I had my smart car tuned in watford at red dot racing, the guys on the rolling road said and showed me figures of 4 standard vrs's before and after custom maps and not one was below 140bhp.

not that it really matters as mostly, i just love it for overtaking...

Mine gets remapped every time the wife takes it out - it goes down to 65 BHP.

I've not even pipped 7 seconds in mine, although my official 7.31 at Trax was on cold tyres and involved two gearchanges. As I found out racing Will on the airfield at Czech - the standard fabia vRS gets to 40mph through 1st and 2nd BLOODY quick, and he kept level with me up to about 35-40mph. It wasn't until I engaged some serious 3rd gear grunt that the differences between my pd130 and a standard one became apparent. Due to weight/traction issues, a remapped pd130 and a standard one are pretty much the same to 35-40mph.

Now when you start looking at in gear mid-range performance, it's a whole new ballgame. ;) Forget about 0-60s, think more about 30-90 in 4th gear, and stuff like that!;) Oh, and also think about 70mph-130mph in 6th. That's a good one. ;)

Unquestionable proof then ;)

I think your just bitter as you never had the vRS... :P

I think the standard car gets to 60 in 8.5 seconds, and with a remap, you'll be looking at knocking a second off that, and possibly 2-3 seconds off the 0-100mph time.

Yeah that'll be it :D:rofl::rofl::rofl: Although if you believe the similar threads on the Mondeo forums, my current car puts out 145-150bhp as standard anyway :rofl::rofl:

Quote Autocar and their longtermer- "we managed consistent times of 8.2 sec, and one incredible, but genuine non wind assisted run of 7.2 sec"...

It has been rumoured that one had been 'played with'...
