Would the Dealer charge to enable Anti Hijack?

Featured Replies

As per title - has anyone been back to the dealer to have the anti-hijack feature enabled on the central locking? If so did they charge for it? I'd like to get mine done as I drive through some pretty dodgy areas on the way to work and keep forgetting to lock the doors. If SWMBO is in the car car it's one of the first things she reminds me to do when we set off!

They may well do and to be honest they should, if they don't then it's very good of them.

Do you have somone locally with VAG-COM?

Sorted easy by anyone in your area with VAG software.

Don't waste your money with the "stealers" mate!

I didnt get charged, but it was in for a service so they said they'd do it for free. Just ask and see...

If you ask for them to do that and only that they will charge as it involves getting the equipment ready etc.

Woohoo - gave them a call today and they said they'll activate it free as they usually do it before the car leaves the forecourt but didn't for some reason. Going to get my central locking sorted out so that one click just opens the driver door and two does all the doors.

Mine is going in to have the raditor mounts replaced next week under warrenty and they are going to activate mine for free.

Mine said they would charge me 0.5 hours labour to enable it, even if the car was in the workshop already  , hence I got a vag-com cable and a mate with a license to enable it for me - total cost about

I know what you mean LJ Matt - I'm glad they are going to enable it free 'cos if I'd heard about it before buying the car I would have negotiated for it when buying.
