Servicing car, confused??

Featured Replies

Just wondering, when i get the new vrs, can i get it serviced at my local garage without it affecting the warranty or will i have to take it to my nearest skoda dealer to get it serviced? They specialise in VAG cars, do Seat's and are starting to do more skodas. They say its ok but im just askin you guys to be sure! Thanks

as long as they are a VAT registered garage and they use Genuine or as good as parts you should be OK when you have to pop back for warranty work

hopefully you won't have any warranty jobs that require doing

Thanks lad,

just to add , and they do it to the manufacturers service schedule , i.e. do whatever is required at the right time and mileage

You should ensure that they do conform to the schedule and use the correct oil for the engine. Im not saying they will but some garages might cut corners to lower the price and get your business.

Thats great lads, cheers

I changed the oil in my RS at about 2,500 miles using a genuine Skoda filter. I did this at a friend's garage (non main dealer) and he stamped the book for me. I kept the receipt for the filter and took note of the oil used. Car will be getting oil changes every 6,000 miles or 6 months from now on and I will be ignoring the variable servicing.
