Clutch slipping, mind soon to follow...

Featured Replies

I had planned to upgrade my clutch this coming summer, but it has started to slip.

Only really noticeable when booting it at around 2.5K (Oops - edited as slightly off) - have been keeping the revs up when booting it to protect the OEM clutch but the dreaded slip disease has set in.

Wonder how much longer I can keep it going (Xav mate, you there?)?

Now I have to sit down with SWMBO and explain very carefully how a Quaife LSD is a critical part of a clutch-strengthening repair.....

Home politics, here we go!!!!!

Cheers:thumbup:

Bas

Good luck with the explaining

25K  :)

Mines been slipping for a while now. Been trying to drive "around" the slip myself.

It's a shame that we didn't have enough members sign up for the Group Buy on the uprated clutch. :(

Might have sourced myself an uprated one for a decent price. But annual service & brake fluid change is due in a few weeks so more expense!!

This is the reason mine is limited to around 270lbft. Though I'm still not convinced about the ruggedness of the clutch/flywheel.

Jabba have helpfully :D suggested a Sachs clutch and tweak the remap to unleash the full potential.

mines not slipping yet , but the clutch take up is near the top of the travel , so its only a matter of time i suppose

I reckon you've been giving it some abuse lately Bas!!

WW has made the investment for the marraige wrecking device you mention, might be worth having a chat.

My flywheel went around 25k and took the clutch with it.

Luckily it was covered under warranty as there did seem to be a fault with it.

Good thing it isn't remapped....
