Well I will feel left out if I dont post in this thread.

My experience of having a race in my Fabia Vrs.

Driving along a fast single carrigeway road with lots of little straights. Started to overtake the cars (as you do) The next thing a peugeout 106 that I have just passed pulls out and follows me. We both pull back in until the next little straight and then out I go followed by the little pug. I pull away from him but we both have to pull back in and we both do this for a couple of miles until we get to a long uphill straight which is about 1 or 2 miles long and fairly steep.

"I will have you now on the hills" I thought and pulled out to overtake the last car and put my foot down. I look in the mirror and I have put a couple of car lengths beetween us and my foot is hard down in fifth then up to sixth and the little bugger is still not far behind. I am going faster and faster hitting triple figures and the git starts to gain on me then pulls out to overtake. I am hitting a 120mph and the pug slowly starts to pass me and there is sod all I can do. As he goes past he gives me thumbs up and points to my car. I slow down as the straight road is coming to an end and he pulls in and its a 106 GTi. I dont know if it was standard or what but it went bloody well. So no I dont class the vrs as a super fast car but it is good at overtaking and cheap to run which is what I want.

never been In a re mapped one so I cannot comment on how fast they are.

It's exactly the kind of comment I'd expect from someone driving a girls car though to be honest, and the sort of ridiculous statement I was referring to is one of a few that come up time and time again from people with slow cars that cant grasp that fact.
