Out of interest what is the highest speed that you have done on a public road in the UK in the last 12 months?

For most of us that will mean breaking the limit

It's an anonymous poll , so no point lying or worrying about being tracked down.

How come you haven't voted? ;)

I might have done ;)

Does it count if it wasn't in my Fab?

I can't nudge my Octy above 122 for some reason. Very dissapointing indeed. (On a private track of course.) :)

Is the M6 Toll considered private road as you have to pay to use it?

I'm assuming we're talking indicated speed rather than actual speed. I suspect my actual speed will be a bit less

Chris

I wasn't in my own car though.

Well I disagree with the comments but any way..

I didn't read the UK bit before voting..... :o

But the same applies. :D Autobahns are wonderful, I just seemed to miss the English channel and thought I was still on one....

I'm assuming we're talking indicated speed rather than actual speed.

If I had voted I would have put down my GPS-indicated speed.

Chris

Unless my speedo is out by more than 20mph it doesn't affect my vote.

I was thinking of genuine speed rather than indicated if you know it , and any vehicle will do. It doesn't have to be a Skoda.

I've been a passenger off the clock in an Octy2 vRS (indicated over 165mph iirc), GPS confirmed 155mph.

The Fabia regularly did an indicated 140mph, and twice off the clock at 150mph. Although not on the public highway!

Sry misread the vote my vote was for about 10 years ago in a saphire cosworth coming up the m5 at about 5am on a summers morning I'll let the rest of you put two and two together

I've been conservative in my vote as I don't know the actual speed, only indicated.

You should have put an 'off the clock option';)

In my Octy - 90 or so.

(Not in the last 12 months) in my Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC - GPS confirmed 132 in a moment of madness (with some other Honda nutters on a relatively straight and clear road).

I'm waiting for the people who've never gone quick to start shouting 'liar! liar!'

I didn't vote.

lets just say i tested the top end on my VRS fabia on some private land (130mph)

 voted before reading the question  The speed 150 mph was on a track day at Thruxton behind the wheel of a F355 Sorry to throw your results:O

I never go above the speed limit, but a friend of mine in a remarkably similar car got cold feet at 136 a small while ago, closely followed by a flat out Fabia and it still took a while to catch up the people we had to meet up with after turning off for a minute.

Are we talking track days here? I've done 120 in a F355 at Thruxton and 131 in an RX8 at Brunters ;)

EDIT: Bugger, I diddnt read the question either

130 in the 350Z....... with the roof down

No, unfortunately. I was on the Toll Road a couple of weeks ago when sat at the side of the motorway was a cop car with its flashing lights on with a copper chatting to the driver of an EVO that a couple of mins before had blasted past me, double quick.

Hmmm , so the vast majority of us have gone quite far into three figure speeds on occasion without mishap.....
