Had my 1.9 as fast as it would go at about 3am on the A19, just for a very short stretch to see if it would do it. Very rarely do I venture over 85 as if I lose my license i'll lose my job!

130...... or was that kilometers?....

So far then, 98.26% of drivers on here admit to travelling at 10mph or more over the limit!!! Staggering.

I did 137mph (indicated) in my toledo, started to slow down then got caught doing 111mph, serves me right i sppse

Not really, considering research shows that the AVERAGE recorded speed on some motorways is 90mph :) That isn't for poeple caught speeding, I think is was done by Traffic Master or some such like organisation.

I have been in a Impreza STI doing 155MPH though the tunnels coming into Geniva

The scary bit was him driving the mountain roads!

180 mph was the fastest speedo reading i've had that was on the M45 in the Midlands but was riding my GSXR1000k4 :-)

I've only ever maxed out two cars and one of them was on the M45 at 2am.

It's a good road for that sort of thing - nice and straight with no traffic

Oh! and the GF is screwing between 90 and 100. And thats enough to make me slow down.

That would make me slow down too.

The fastest I've driven in the last 12 months was about 140kh/h (87mph) overtaking a car. I didn't actually mean to do 40kph over the limit, was watching the road not my speed!

Fastest ever in the Octy was on the M1/A1 link chasing an S2000 up the sliproad. I kept up surprisingly well until 125mph then eased off as I like my licence. Next time I put my foot down I popped a boost pipe!

I find this an awful lot since having the vrs - go to overtake something (and I always drive "briskly" anyway) and before you know it the speedo is reading well over 100, although I don't tend to maintain those speeds, usually cruise on long journeys at around 77-80.

Probably doesn't help that I like to drop a gear or two and fire past as quickly as possible so I can pull back in and gently slow back down.

At that speed you would prob loose your licence so you might as well keep going

Ha ha, true!

I don't know how people get away with it :finger: .

I've always driven reasonably nippy cars before (my Octy is by far the slowest other than my 1st). I only once (honest to God) did more than 90 and that time I got pulled by an unmarked car!!!

well, I am amazed I have never been done for speeding (touch wood!), we used to have a Golf GTI and I was zooming along the motorway, (it was empty) I must have been doing over 100mph, I came to the end of the motorway, slowed down and when I looked in my mirror, there was an unmarked police car behind me and they were looking at me:eek:

I carped myself, my heart was beating soooo fast, but they just drove off and didn't stop me, I don't know why, same thing happened last week, it was very early, empty road, when I slowed down, there was an umarked police car pulled alongside me, they just looked at my car and drove off:eek:

Did 140mph in a Mazda 3 MPS on Saturday with the salesman sat next to me egging me on. Felt like it had a good 20mph left in it as well!!!! Awesome.

Broke 70 for the first time the other day, 9 pts you see, test drove a Hayabusa and clocked 115mph............. then changed up to 3rd, pick it up end of next month when pts drop to 6. :)

On Christmas day this year I was a little bit late for christmas lunch at my brothers so I had my foot down as I was accelerating onto the motorway. I was doing about 95 when I pulled on to the motorway right in front of a police car:eek:.

I carped it, and slowed down to 75ish (didn't want to make the decrease in speed to obvious!), they must have been feeling festive though as he just flashed me with the blues once and then just pulled off at the next junction. I drove like an angel the rest of the way.

I don't think I've broken any speed limits so far this year!:D

Well in a car, 110 ish only for a split second.

On my Suzuki Bandit, speedo wouldnt go high enough, mind you i was going round Donnington at the time......

In a go kart, fast as fooooook, hahaha

So that proves a telling off works and there's no need to instantly bash out a fine or points.

130 every weekend.

I never go above the speed limit, but a friend of mine in a remarkably similar car got cold feet at 136 a small while ago, closely followed by a flat out Fabia and it still took a while to catch up the people we had to meet up with after turning off for a minute.

A very similar experiance happened to a friend of mine in a Fabia following a car remakably similar to yours.

That's 136 GPS ;)

Good for you, I never exceed the speed limit either.

Chris

PS on the 4th press of the menu button when I got home Friday night, three little green numbers came up:

1, 0, 8.

Wonder what that is about then?

Been 154mph(indicated)in my E46 M3 Convertible last year with the roof down......................that was the only memorable drive in the thing though..................over-hyped rubbish!!!

120mph in the octy, on a little private strech I know:rolleyes:

Felt like there was plenty left too,
