Fabia Wheel Bolts

Featured Replies

Does anyone happen to know the shank length of the standard fabia wheel bolts?

Also if anyone has fitted any team dynamics alloys did you use the skud bolts or buy some longer ones?

Thanks!

I think that standard Fabia bolts don't fit with aftermarket alloys.

The cone is different, too round (?). Standard bolts fit with OEM wheels (alloys and steelies).

I assumed they wouldn't. I'll speak with the alloy manufacturer on Monday.

My Pro Race 2s came with their own bolts. The McGuards are labelled M14 x 1.5, which probably doesn't help you.

My Fox Evo 3 Aftermarket alloys fitted fine on the Fabia vRS using the OEM wheel nuts.........:)

Bryand has raised a good point in his post. VAG wheels (be it steel or alloy) use radial bolts (the curved face) and most aftermarket alloys use a tapered bolt (the other bolt). Fit the wrong bolt and you do not have the correct surface area for the bolt to tighten onto. Worse case is the bolt comes loose (seen it happen).

bryand- Thanks for that, tney look like the McGards I have.

I need to speak with Rimstock as the spiggot ring seems far too tight on the hub, I'm not sure the correct spiggot ring was fitted by the previos owner (he used spacers). Halfrauds are ordering the 'correct' bolts but I'm not sure how much I trust there expertise!

You have still got five of the OEM bolts for the spare, haven't you?

Here's a picture of my 'mock' fitment, the car is still on the jack...

I have skoda alloys on at the minute so the spare is not an issue, however I will retain all the oem bolts as I have a set of OEM steels in the garage I'm keeping for when I sell the car.
