Heated wingmirrors are on when the wingmirror adjuster is in the middle (ie neither LEFT nor RIGHT).

4x4 4x4 may have a perimetric alarm (ie if door or bonnet forced) but will certainly will not detect glass smash etc and is not Thatcham approved.

So good, you'll notice, that I said it twice ;)

Heated wingmirrors are on when the rear screen demister is selected AND the wingmirror adjusted is in the middle (ie neither LEFT nor RIGHT).

Are you sure? Mine seem to be on all the time regardless of whether the rear screen demister is on or not. Any water/mist/whatever seems to clear within a few minutes of me starting the car.

Heated wing mirrors can be switched on by the control knob independantly of the rear heated screen switch...or at least mine can ;)

Mine's the same as Geoff's - the only omission being a warning light to tell you you've left the heated mirrors on!

Yep, just to set the record straight, I was being a avatar19_0.gif: nothing to do with rear demister, an assumption I'd carried over from my last car. RTFM, I know . So I've been driving around on clear warm days (yeah, both of them!) with my heated mirrors on .

That's just reminded me of something; at least I know that my ESP is on - I switch it on at the begining of every journey and check that the orange indicator is on the dash, right Jason? ;)

I don't even know if mine has heated mirrors - what's the giveaway?

Little heater sign on the electric window adjuster? Between the R and the L...

Rob.

Hey ho, learn a new thing everyday... Goes off to put the switch in a different position to switch heating off

Guess I don't have em then - no heater symbol, just a dot. Funny though they do seem to clear reasonably well.

Can't believe they'd be on permanently by having the switch in the "dead" position, but I bow to other members' superior knowledge.

Have I upset a fan of Mr Scooter by suggesting that he is as stupid as I?
