Well, following my email to the seller, I got an email from him offering the car for £4k including delivery. Deleted straight away.

I took the car with me here a few weeks ago. I'm willing to ship it from here through Sea Cargo Shipping and cover the shipping and insurance fees to your location in UK. The total price is 4000 GBP shipping included. I thought selling my Fabia through eBay would be a good idea, giving the fact that I need some fast cash for a bussines that i`m starting in a few days..

Question, ok how much of this will ebay's fault when the crunch comes?? or should be/could be proven in a court of law ??

(one thinks should be victim of their own success - much like makers of fags who have seen claims against them ??).

I mean, these are the guys who put this wonderful web auction thingy into place.

Well, I don't recall the last time that car motor auctions allowed completely hooky cars to be sold.

Isn't it about time that ebay were put to rights about letting fraudulent dealings go on on their own site? (rather than just a case, of the ones that got away and then its the victim who suffers).

Does ebay ever take the front for a problem like this? I can understand if we are talking small ads or some other venue. But this is the big hyped ebay we are talking about here.

Some VERY GOOD points made there. eBay ARE responsible BUT they will only remove a sale if its reported. These scams are hard to spot unless you are a very regular viewer of the sales. The more complaints they get the more action they will take. That how they operate

Hi - Reported seller to e-bay and the advert has now been taken off! Sent an e-mail to the seller asking why he didn't trade it it and for information to carry ouy an AA HPI check - recieved an e-mail back saying the the car was in Hungary and he would pay shipping costs and insurance to ship to UK all for 4k. The morale is if it's cheap then it's normally a scam. Ebay also sent me an e-mail warning me that it was being offered outside e-bay and to beware!

I would love to meet you and do the deal face to face but i have a pretty busy weeks at work and with the starting of my new bussiness in a few days and a baby on the way i don`t have time even to wash my hands if you understand me that`s why i listed the car on eBay because i can sell it without wasting time to meet people. The car is already sealed in container ready to be shipped anytime along with all documents. I have a relative who works for Sea Cargo Shipping, who will help me a lot with the shipping and insurance (from what I know, he has 80% discount on intercontinental shippings). Believe me, I wouldn't offer to cover the shipping if I hadn't been totally aware of what I'm going through. The fact is that I really need some cash at this time, and selling here (in Hungary) an UK registered car it's not as easy as it seems. You will also have a 7 days inspection period to check and test drive the car before we close the deal.

The transaction will be fully under eBay surveillance and if you want us to start the deal you`ll need to provide me your full name and address so i can begin shipping preparations and i`ll also contact eBay Motors Transactions to send you a invoice with all details regarding shippment, payment, insurance and inspection period.
