£4k for a 55 plate Fabia vRS? odd!

Featured Replies

Does seem a little suspicious... ho hum.

If it were ligit........ someone has just found the biggest best bargin of the century!!

Surely if u had one of those checks is it the RAC do? that would prove it all legit??

May have outstanding finance or something, so that it is liable to repossession.

Would certainly need an HPI check, and wouldn't want to pay a deposit before seeing it.

Almost certainly dodgy though!

He is asking for contact by email. Doesn't that contravene Ebay rules? Looks very dodgy.

A hijacked account i'm guessing, payment methods accepted - paypal. someone message him and ask if you can view the car......

Users email addy is an american based ISP. Guess this is a hacked account and any messages sent to the ebay user id would raise suspicions if the legitamate owner received e-mails. Notice that the account has not been active for 2 years, perfect account to hack. I have sent a query to the E-Bay account asking if the user is aware that he has listed or not, as the case may be with this vehicle.

This seller will get eager VRS buyers to dump the money in his american PayPal account withdraw the funds, all while he is in Nigeria.

that picture looks as though it was taken in Middlebrook, Horwich, Bolton, I recognise the area, I go there quite frequently to Scan Computers.

that is middlebrook in bolton but item location is london:confused: i've seen this car for sale on ebay before but cant remember the wanted price. something dodgy there me thinks.

This is a scam and as many people have said all the person does is copy and paste the legit car details and highjacks an account, seen many on here, beware, never part with money or deposit before seeing the car. Never respond to emails outside ebay as there would be no trace. If it is too good to be true then it is!

BOTH are a scam, and probably the same person. I've reported the silver one, and mentioned the other one in passing.

edit: That last one even says the ebayer has been an ebayer in the united states since 2002...

Is the Reg no Genuine............................The "55" looks out of line, If you copy the picture and enlarge it it looks funny

Yeah the 55 look funny...lol.

The cars used in both pictures are genuine, most likely lifted from earlier ebay auctions.

the auctions are from hijacked accounts. They get the account details from members who were daft enough to click on various emails supposdly from ebay. I would also guess that the person behind both these auctions are one and the same.

The pictures of the black VRS were taken on Sainsburys car park in Bolton.

The chap who owned it worked for Sainsburys and was selling the car on ebay for

Well spotted you lot

the black one has been on there before, i guess the pictures etc are teethed from a previous sale

Second one (silver) is blatently a scam, there is no item location on there and the sellers english is quite poor. However the Black one would have fooled me :o

Yep definately a scam.

The real owner of that car had it up for auction on eBay a little while a go, recognise the pics straight away. So this guy has just copied the pics and stuff from their auction and now using in theirs to sell the car cheap and scam someone.

There are loads of these auctions lately on eBay offering top cars for peanuts, e.g a BMW M3 for £8k, watch out for them...

Both sales have now been cancelled by Ebay.

Andy

and i got a caution email from ebay saying i should not complete any transaction with the seller because i emailed him using ebay to ask about the car.

its people like this guy that spoil ebay!!
