Steering needs looking at ??!!!??

Featured Replies

Took my VRS Octy into Skoda at Macclesfield today to look at the following problems;

- Rattle in door

- One of paddles in left middle vent not moving in unison with the others.

- Interior light switch fell off when sliding it.

The girl in reception, 'Polish' i think, said that all things were checked and;

- Door needs to be stripped and investigated, definite rattle.

- New vent unit needs to be ordered.

- switch has been mended and seems to work ok now.

However she also said the mechanic has said the steering is out and needs looking at and may require replacement???

I probed her for more information and she couldn't explain.

What i need to know is, if there's something so wrong as to warrant replacement steering parts, is this covered under warranty? (car is 55 plate)

Plus the other items, are these covered under warranty.

She couldn't answer this, and said that on investigation this could be confirmed.

Just spent

warranty will cover steering components for sure... but to be honest if it is that bad they shouldnever have sold it to you in that condition

Actuallt bought it from Skoda Halifax, but took it here beacause it is closer to home. Might have a word with Skoda Halifax tomorrow.

you will have to check the details of the warranty

A year or so ago we took an Octavia into a dealer for some warranty work, one job of which was an air vent. This was not covered as it was explained to us that people like to stick air fresheners and the like in them, which is quite understandable as they are not designed for this, we were also shown the Skoda buletin about this.
