Err Yes Q that's what i mean, l am a long way from the likes of Jabbasport and i simple plug in and download system sounds great to me. OK i suspect that i will not every single BHP gain i could from a trip to a rolling road type set up, but if i can get a "Safe" 210-215 than that's fine with me.

Cheers

Mike

Ps, Q am going to view some photos at Kirby Nick tomorrw, seems "My Friends" did leave finger prints dueing their visit.

Mike,

if you're in no rush Jabba will be bringing out OBD programming to the 1.8T in the near future. You'll be able to have a custom remap via the OBD port........no removing of the ECU. Prices will be the same as for custom remapping now...

Liverpool tis a long way from Jabba but it is well worth the trip. IIRC the furthest a member has travelled for a Jabba remap is...........Norway!

I also know of Briskodians who've travelled from Cumbria, Leeds, Manchester but to name a few.

Wise choice to wait until you've done some mileage.

Insurance...try Liverpool Victoria...very mod friendly.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Mike,

I travelled down from Hartlepool to Jabba.

Trust me, it's more than worth the journey ;)

Mike,

I suppose what everyone is dancing around here is that Revo are not generally well regarded. Personally I have no opinion on the matter and as already mention the SEAT chaps seem to like it but the consensus seems to be that at eg Jabba, you get more bang for your buck. Revo has a reputation for a quick download from a laptop in a carpark, perhaps unfairly but mud sticks.

Mike,

If you have spare time tomorrow, er tonight; lol it's late...Thursday anyway. There is a meet (see events section) there will be a range of options to view, all bar Jabba I think unless Ian brings his.

APR is nearest and offers a different bang per buck, jabba is doable in a day. Revo is also an option. As to is AmD. Have a search all have there respective pros and cons.

We will hopefully be creating a page that makes this a little easier to appraise.

In brief:

Jabba, custom to your car and in some aspects adapted to how you want it to feel.

APR, off the shelf (unless you get v-tune then custom every day :D) switched and ECU disabling all extras, but available and IMHO best there is, but I have paid for it once so I'm bound to say that...

Revo, as above, needs SPS3 to be "custom" otherwise it's off the shelf to a point.

AmD As per Jabba, just less exposure here.

Superchip, some like, some hate, off the shelf and thats it.

Others? There are some but theseare main players.

If I were doing it again...I'd still go with APR or Jabba...

If I were doing it again...I'd still go with APR or Jabba...

APR here too, good summary above and couldn't have put it better myself! :D

Im getting mine APR'd shortly.... so watch out for a review! Am expecting great things

I'd go APR or Jabba for my new one, if I was going to mod it.

No real preference expressed there, I listed them alphabetically.

The bizarre thing is, how is where it is programmed relevant to the code itself?

Where the install is done is pretty irrelevant is'nt it?

No RR agreed, but road test and datalogging can trap faults.

RR is a nice to have for sure...

Tailored mapping is nice too. like Jabba's...

I think you're mixing up AmD's One CLick with REVO's name...

"send you a box" and plug in is One Click from AmD

REVO is serial port programmed by laptop and SPP cable

non invasive methods both of them. (ie not opening ecu physically)

regards

bill

Is APR non-invasive as well?

Is APR non-invasive as well?

yes.

Is APR non-invasive as well?

DPP will be..

JABBA is well worth the travel regardless as my tav made 242 BHP on sat can you get that from a simple plug in ?
