Cupra r front bumper spoiler

Featured Replies

People of Briskoda have any of you or do you know of anyone with the cupra r spoiler fitted to the front of a octy vrs. My mate hit a kerb so bought a new one so I picked up the broken one and swiftly placed it in the boot. I was going to use it as a template but I was wondering if anyone has done this mod and be able to give me some pointers. Or even some hell no don't go there. Any info would be good info.

PM andyrew on here as he has the Cupra R splitter on the front of his Octy vRs, I was thinking of it on mine, but as I'm on coilovers, it would probably fly off on the first speed hump I went over.

Why?

Do you believe you are going to better handling/stability by fitting this? Or is this just for aesthetic reasons? Motor manufacturers spend millions on wind tunnel testing to get the best compromise on air flow around, under, over and "through" the vehicle. They spend millions on designers honing every curve, line and detail. Bolting bits on from other vehicles at best will look stupid and at worst upset the handling/stability and cooling of your car. IMHO its not only a tasteless thought but an insult to the hundreds of people involved in developing a new vehicle.

I'm not saying there aren't room for improvements, but sticking on bits from other motors for the hell of it, I find a trifle bizzar. Each to his own I guess. Now where's that Cossie rear wing? Should look great on the back of my 1.6 Ambiente:rofl:

I get what your saying, but how about the people who like to modify there cars like myself. Its like saying don't put a better flowing exhaust on or lowering the suspension to improve handling. Yeah these cars are tested left, right and center, but they are also designed to meet the tastes of a large market and not at a certain age group. Its like saying the mk2 golf i had was fine at a 1.8 16v. Which it was, but it was so so much more fun when the 2.8 vr6 was dropped in it. At end of the day though its each to there own and if everyone was the same the world would be pretty boring.

This was when it was in the decision stage, to see if it would fit or not.

Job done.

Bit iffy at the front there I know before anyone points it out. I will be getting another spoiler to sort this over sight.

And underneath, it took bloody ages with the jig saw (jig saw blade was cut in half to make things a bit easier and so I didn't go through the spoiler) cutting those slots so it would bend round the vRS bumper.

Looks good

have to say i was right in the fact it looks awesome

my old splitter did the trick of convincing you then ?

Whats iffy about it? If you are getting another one, there is a appreciative recipient for the old one here.

If you look at the second and third pic, look at the middle section of the spoiler where the 2 vertical bit of plastic are they don't meet the bumper correctly. Nothing really but it needs sorted at some point.

If you look at the second and third pic at the center of the spoiler the 2 up-rites if you call them that. Well they don't meet the bumper properly so at some point i need to sort it out.

Hey

Well I say I like it

It does look good , Dean at the side of me went mmmm too , so thumbs up from us

Nice one

Sarah

I like that a lot but I'd never get out of a car park again here :(

Looks spot on and look really good on the black vrs.

Do you not have speed bumps where yo ulive ? ;)

thank you very much JPD.

goochie, yes i do but all you have to do is slow down and take your time over them!!! i have a few really big ones around here where i regularly go but i just manage to move the loose gravel from off the top of the bump every time i go over it. so when i get it lowered i will have to take an alternative route to my destinations. its the price iam willing to pay to make the car look damn good!!!

oh and just for good measure, i can now only reverse up my drive way, cant go forwards or i will scrape it on my way off again. it becomes a habit adjusting how to drive with things like this.

And it can only get lower!!!!

Looks great. Can only see 1 problem!!

You be scraping that bumper everywhere.

Hope there aren

Its due to little toe rags in there nova's with the big bore all noise no go exhausts so council put them in to slow them down. Can't see the appeal of those cars i drove a few when i worked fitting alarms and stereo's etc at local shop b4 going back to baking and there sh#te.
