To Chip Or Not To Chip That Is The Question!

Featured Replies

Hello there i am in need of help , I have a 2001 octavia vrs but i cant decide whether to have the engine chipped/remapped and want to know the pros and cons about it and will it really make as bigger difference as people are quoting on different websites . I live in lancashire so if anyone knows of a good reliable firm who will do this for me please let me know , preferably some where with a rolling road , PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Is it worth it?, of course it is and with any decent remap and no noticable downsides apart from invalidating warranty but as your car is well outside that the I say go for it

Pondered this question myself for far too long. Got Revo, love it and should have done it sooner.

sorry for jacking

Yep - do it, the car will give you even more grins :D

Do a search and you'll find lots of threads like this with lots of recommendations for different tuning places. Awesome are probably reasonably close to you I guess

Don't Chip it. Get it remapped.

Badger 5 is about 50 miles from Cardiff, they do Revo and Custom-Code and Bill is a great guy.

Hi

Awesome Sarah, does your company have a website and what do you charge for a remap on a standard VRS?

Also anyone know a good garage for serving a VRS in the Stockport area??

Thanks

Awesome GTI Store UK - VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda Performance & Styling

Here you go mate , as for servicing , why not have it done at the same time as your remap or trial? we can do it all while you wait , or we have a courtesy car

We are just 5 mins away from the Trafford centre IF you wanted to go shopping , myself I would prefer to stick pins in my eyes , but hey even men like shopping

Or just sit and watch a DVD or play a game in the comfort of the warm smart surroundings and bring your credit card and I can show you a few more toys for your car ;)

Does that help?

Sarah

Ooh and sorry , we have the remaps on offer just now at £375.00 + VAT and we will do you a before and after rolling road printout FOC usually worth £80.00

Sarah

Hi there,

Remapping via your car's OBDII plug in unit is what is being referred to. And Awesome give you 6 hours free upgraded drive time to see how much you will enjoy it. No obligation either. Honest! Certainly worth a call on 0161 776 0777.

Awesome Stage 1 is great value at £375+vat and Stage 2 is only £500+vat. The stage 1 will give your VRS approx 215 Bhp with no other mod's required. But the Stage 2 does require at least an uprated cat-back exhaust.

Best regards,

remap, you'll never look back :D :D :D

well, I better not lie, you WILL look back, and laugh at everything in your rear view mirror:thumbup:

Chipboost are a new company to this forum, and most remaps from such as those from Impossible Performance, Awesome, Jabba, Star etc have been proven to work, backed up by dyno charts, and customer service and satisfaction.

Whilst Chipboost may be a very good tuner, you cannot blame people for being dubious with a new person.

Perhaps if they were to substantiate the product with RR/dyno charts, then there might be a better response.
