Control system for exhaust gases warning light

Featured Replies

'Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor' where does it live and is it easy to replace and how much

Control system for exhaust gases warning light, if the above is rectified will the light go out itself or is it a trip to a vag com dealer or someone who has one to turn it off.

I wonder if using some gulf diesel could have caused this, and if a good drop of diesel clean would clean the system

Hi guys iam new to this sites , i owned a skoda fabia 1.9TDi PD and it clocked 25400kms ,suddenly my "control system for exhaust light " comes on after starting and stay on during running.

I called up the service guy and he told it could due to EGR fault ( possibly a leak in the pipes) .

Is any problem to run the car with the light on ?

When you wash the car, dont use a rag to do the exhaust pipes when the engine is running, (like I did) if you block the gas from coming out for even a second, this will cause the exhaust management light to come on because it thinks its clogged up.

On the same note, just had mine come on for third time deiving 30 miles a day. Each time, I drive the car at 1500 revs in 5th about 50mph on a nice long road and it usually clears but a pain in the arse... maybe should have got the beamer 320d now....

The exhaust inspection light on my Yeti 2litre Tdi 170 came on today. The car is now 2weeks over the two years since I bought it. The car has done less than 8000 miles. I have read my warranty document and assume the car is still under warranty in it's 3 rd year. Going to ring the dealer in the morning. This seems to be a fairly common problem with the diesels.Any advice how to get the best result from my dealer
