Where are skoda's made?

Featured Replies

As above, where are the Octavia vRS made?

Mostly in the Czeck Republic, but bits of mine are stamped "Skoda: Made in Germany".

I knew they were german parts but was unsure where they were assembled

Pretty sure it's in the Czech Rep somewhere.

I remember reading a couple of years ago that the Czech factory that produces the vRS, was, at the time the best factory (most efficient, best build quality etc) in the whole VAG group. What happened to mine then?! Has loads of squeeks and rattles :(

Well it has now..... :o sorry couldn't resist ;)

Most Skoda's are built in Mlada Bolaslav about 60km from Prague,Superb's are built at i think at Kvasiny where the old Rapid coupes were also made along with any specials and prototypes.The plant at Vraclabi built 4x4 Octavia's also a place where specials are built."Made in Germany" is related to the common parts bin that are used in all the VAG groups Skoda's are NOT built there,they would cost as much as a VW or Audi if they did !

You can tell where your Skoda is built by the chassis number.

The tenth digit indicates production location

2 = Mlada Boleslav (Octavia)

3 = Mlada Boleslav (Fabia)

4 = Mlada Boleslav (Fabia)

6 = Kvasiny (Fabia)

7 = Vrchlabi (Fabia)

8 = Vrchlabi (Octavia)

X = Poznan (Octavia)

Dont have any info on Superb, if someone with a Superb wants to check thier tenth digit and let me know i'll update it.

Been to the Skoda factory in Mlada Boleslav. It is HUUUUUGE! Took ages just to drive in and out the place again. :cool:

Well worth the drive there and back :D

The MK1 octy vRS was made in Vrchlabi. The bodyshells were shipped from Mlada Boleslav, the car was then finished in the other factory.

Your spot on Lummox, the Superb is built at Kvasiny along with the Roomster.

Pete

Your spot on Lummox,

Was there ever any doubt?

(if i'm honest im sat here with my introduction to Skoda training manual...lol)

My head is full of useless tat, but I like to make sure what I print is correct so a little refreshing is sometimes required.

Technically the model ident i.e 1U counts as one digit.

:D :D A lot of my car has been built in Dublin Ireland......Considering the repairs it had within the first 2 years and the parts replaced under warranty as well as parts replaced just outside the warranty:(
