Aftermarket Armrest

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know about a decent looking arm rest that I can get to put on a Fabia Vrs, I test drove a Golf with one and they make it so much more comfortable to lean on,

Thanks

Jon

i have seen a few on ebay (normally from germany) with cup holders, double 12v adapters blah blah blah, they look alright, but my only concern is that i have heard they really get in the way of the handbrake. if anyone has one can confirm it, it'd be appreciated.

Anything that is deep enough to have cupholders will get in the way of the handbrake. I found the problem to be that the armrest didn't come forward far enough to support my elbow, yet if it came any farther forward, it would foul the handbrake and possibly also the gearlever. It spent most of its time in the upright position and I finally removed it as more trouble than it was worth.

Dunno about the fabia, but you can retro fit the oem armrest to mk1 octys. Did the the fabia ever come with an oem armrest ?

Not in the UK sadly. Apparently they did abroad and some people have ordered them in and fitted them.

Got this one off a guy on eBay. It pivots up entirely out of the way but even when down you can use the handbrake.

Got the guys ID? Been looking for one for a while :)

There was a guy at GTI International last year who was selling 9N Polo armrests for about £60.

Looked similar to the one in the pic above.

I went for an TT one to match my interior! :D

Buy her a scarf

Yeah and it looks cheap as well. Can't see that lasting more than a couple of weeks. Lean on it too hard and it would probably snap off.

Off topic but can't resist.

Is that you in the piccy - I mean it looks like a normal guy there.

If so, must be due to the constraints of the lovely looking psychiatric nurse beside you.

You keep hold of her.

Buy her a scarf

Give her a quid for the bus ;)
