New insurance groups

Featured Replies

That sounds like a drop in insurance group over all though. I need to look at those links more closely. Looks like mine goes from 6 to 12.

50 groups! I remember when there was only 10! Hmm , I bet my premium goes up.

when does this kick in? My insurance is due next month...:(

Octy 2.0 TDI elegance

Was group 10/20 now 20/50 which should mean a reduction in cost :cynical:

Also the fabia VRS goes from 9/20 to 18/50 which is handy

Why do they want to know whether your car is an Auto or a Manual?

Does it affect the premium?

Well, with most makes, a slushbox costs a grand more, which is a lot of extra lottery to pay out on a write-off. OTOH slushboxes are also usually driven by old farts who learnt to drive on half-tracks during the Sino-Soviet War, and have 300 years experience without a claim, so are good risks. ;)

I'll wait to see the impact before getting too worried, although a doubling from 12 to 24 does cause my heart to beat faster and my blood pressure to jump.

Im already expecting a rise :( a reshuffle is more than an excuse to put our premiums up

Your group is doubling, but the number of categories is going up by 2 and a half times, so relativley you are moving down (from 'Just above half way' to 'just below half way')- Not sure how these will be translated into cost though!!

It just a case of wait & see!
