Fabia vRS - looks like its done 50k

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 56 plated Fabia vRS (its done 6k) but the seats look like its 5 years old, done 50k and the owner is a 100 a day smoker. I've got lots and lots of little stains on mainly the passenger seat but also the drivers (they look like tiny little water marks but some of them are as big as a 10p coin.

I poped along to my local Skoda dealer but they didn't know anything to get rid of the marks, they inturn pointed out the

Usually scotchguarding before hand means these problems are easily sorted, but its a bit late for that. Id give them a good going over with a soft bristle brush and foam interior cleaner (the foam type stuff usually works well)

Do you want to look at my seats and compare stains

Try 8 months of fabia ownership: Dog that will ONLY sit on the passenger's seat, sloppy owner eating in the car, taking girl friends on night outs in car = eye liner on seats.

Tbh, go to a professional valet place, pay £60 and get an as new car.

AutoGlym interior shampoo.

It's the dogs.

Do you want to look at my seats and compare stains

Does your driving have that effect on people?

:D

Well @ 50k thats above average mileage. Call average 10k a year and the seats have seen as much use as some 5 year old cars.

I looked at a 53 plate vRS with stained seats. The dealer was very honest with me and said they had had them proffesionally cleaned twice and there was not much hope of getting the stains out.

Oh dear, can see the mis quote engine coming out. People making comments about stains not from worried passengers... etc etc

its driving me crazy, the car inside and outside is spotless except this silly seat problem. Im seriously tempted to shell out the grand and have the seats changed.

Not before you look at the after market leather options!!

There is a place called Seat Surgeons up York that people rave about, and looking at the pictures they look fab. Also a lot less than a grand.

Use a steam cleaner. I've got one (the type with a cloth head attachment) and they'll literally get anything out. Just steam without chemicals.

Try Tescos own brand car interior cleaner. My mate has just used it to clean up the back seat of his BMW after his very messy kids (4 and 2) and the results were truly amazing!!!! He tried some other well knows stuff before (can't remember which one now though) and it didn't make any difference.

Get a decent local valeter to steam clean them, THEN get some ScotchGuard/Diamondbrite on them.

I've got a guy I always use for my interiors - £25. Job done  - you just have to be careful at this time of year that the seats dry out properly. I'd see that a heater was put inside at this time of year, otherwise you risk mould developing.

Failing that, give Seat Surgeons £800 and pick your own colours for a custom re-trim

Leaving the windows open, when it's raining, gave my stains.

I don't think you read the OP's post properly  His car's done 6k miles but it looks like it's done 50k!

Dave.

I use a Vax Spot Scrubber with the AAA Vax Liquid.

Works fantastically on the Fabia vRS interior :)

*Must read threads more thoroughly* :o

Whoever buys/bought my 05 will be buying a car with absolutely mint seats (32k). A bit of care and attention works wonders

AutoGlym interior shampoo.

I totally agree, best stuff there is.

Gets the filth out of my seats a treat.

Thats the one!!

common problem - millions of threads. i opted for seat surgeons in the end. under 1K so cheaper than stealer by miles and looks very sweet.
