Vrs Mpg

Featured Replies

I got 61 on my trip home from oxford last night. First time i've seen it that high!!

The overall one (trip 2) is reading 51.5 now :D:D

Well, how about:

tyres pumped up properly and tracking right

avoid sudden acceleration and braking e.g. by looking farther ahead and fitting into bigger gaps in traffic.

don't carry unnecessary weight

don't produce unnecessary drag

make sure clutch isn't slipping

use highest gear possible without labouring engine

Use mpg meter to optimise 'throttle' setting

use cruise control on all but uphill stretches

don't use dodgy fuel

keep it clean and polished

talk to it nicely

I can only agree with this, especially the last two:thumbup:

Mine gets driven hard mostly and I have never seen below 40mpg realistically.

But then again I have never had more than 52mpg.

The trip computer tells fibs.
