Connecting MP3 player to Symphony head unit

Featured Replies

I've just bought a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player + Belkin Tunecast FM transmitter. The sound quality is not very good at all.Is it possible to connect the MP3 to the standard radio/CD via a cable?

I was told about these today, are they any good if set up correctly?

Unfortunately the Tunecast is a very low power device, the aerial is at the back of the car and probably being screened by the roof and bodywork. If you can wangle a longer lead from the mp3 player you may find locating the Tunecast in the back of the car helps. Not very practical though. :(

Take delivery of a new Fabia on Wednesday so I'm not sure about connecting directly by lead yet.

I had a problem ,where the amount of signal lowered when I connected a CD player which had a modulator ( converts stereo audio signal to a radio frequency (88 to 107 Mc FM )). This modulator had an aerial in,and out connection to fitted radio . I cured it by by connecting the modulated aerial output into the aerial signal by inductive coupling (a few turn of insulated wire wound on the radio aerial INNER unscreened lead ) There is no direct connection between the two inputs. I realise most recent CD Changers are connected on a BUS system .

I think the short answer is "yes it is possible", the longer bit is "but you probably need to buy an electronic doofer to fool the symphony into thinking there's a CD player attached and facilitate the wiring".
