Anyone fit a NOS kit to their derv?

Featured Replies

I've actually fitted my own Nitrous setup years back on a petrol. It was pretty easy - you had to have a separate petrol line going to a solenoid and a separate NOS line going to a different solenoid, both ending up in the manifold. Gave 150 bhp extra when turned on - it was fun.

On a derv though I wonder if you do need a separate fuel line and what kits are available for TD applications.

I understand there a few people who have fitted NOS and wondered if they would provide some input/pics?

Cheers

Jason (devonutopia) has fitted it to the mongrel.

Not strictly true. The now full bottle and all the gear is in a garage waiting to be fitted. :P

By the way. GT4 [cough] ;)

I've had one fitted to my Golf 150PD. It's a Wizards of Nos kit with a minimax controller. Power went from 188bhp to 231bhp and torque from 290lb/ft to 346lb/ft. Great fun just expensive to keep filling unless you can do it yourself.

As stated Wizard of NOS do a kit which comes with one solenoid instead of two and all you need to do is tap into the inlet manifold. Very basic and simple really ( just like Jason ) but i works ( unlike Jason ) and is expensive to run ( like Awesome Sarah ) If you want more power get a good propane kit or uprated injectors and hybrid turbo, it might cost more to start with but will be cheaper in the long run and you not have to keep ****ing about filling up your bottle all the time.

You need to map your diesel to provide more fuel at WOT to match the Nitrous (or inject Propane at the same time).
