The Pope Mobile

Featured Replies

Well at 2pm yesterday I ceased to own a Fabia Vrs and became the owner of a Roomster 3 1.9 TDI - now christened the pope mobile.

I have to admin to spending the past week worried I'd made the wrong decision and have had a few sleepless night over it but now I am 100% sure I've done the right thing.

First off the fuel side -

If your lucky i may just be able to get a photo of the real "uk model" pope mobile as it lives in Cardiff. Owned by some photographic company i know this is deffo the real as i was witness to the popes visit to cardiff back in 82and i saw him hi-ridin in it.

:D :D

I've got a couple of crappy ones of my phone I'll post tomorrow when I've got access to my laptop to bluetooth them across.

Have you got a sore left knee yet from the bulky centre console??

How do you find the view in the driver's rear mirror, thought the rear of the car looked to be miles away when I sat in one the other week.

Can't say the centre console bothers me tbh. I do like the fact that I can get foot between the centre console and the clutch unlike the fabia.

View out of the rear is great - really clear. Getting used to it now and the parking sensors are great no I trust them.

If the seats on the vRS were crippling you then you made the right choice - nothing worse than back pain etc.

TBH I find the vRS suspension too hard at times, in retrospect would have liked the standard suspension - but with vRS go.

Tweak it a little with some Millers Diesel Sport 4, and it will cut down on some of the noise.

Sides at your age and your profession, you should be driving something more 'seemly' :D

One thing I can guarantee through Roomster driving experience, when it rains and you're on the motorway you'll use the rear wiper continuosly. Due to the flat back of the hatch all the spray from the rear ends up here.

Nice motor the Roomster.
