No Planned Mk 2 Fab vRS

Featured Replies

Went to a Skoda dealership in Manchester to-day (yes THAT one) to have a look around at some fresh metal. Before I knew it I was set upon by the salesman and after much bla bla bla bla bla I said I was thinking of waiting for the new mk2 Fab vRS and was told that Skoda ain't producing one period ie ever, he also said that two of his customers had bought the Ltd Edition Fab vRS and they were putting them in bubble wrap when they collect them very strange place that dealership...I left quicker than I arrived..

If I had a tenner for every different story I heard about the Mk2 VRS I would have enogh cash to buy two.

Oddly enough I found some pictures of a dashpod and some pedals on tinterweb the other day which were proported to be from the MKII Fabia vRS.

Lightcliffe Huddersfield as was (Nigel) was expecting a deisal and the 1.4 tsfi engines to appear in a new fab vRS

Sounds like Horners have either some new limited editions or a few 2nd hand vRS's to shift then

Are they telling porkies or just plain stupid

I was told they had four Ltd Editions still to punt to customers..not selling that quick then..

Tryed to flog me one over the phone on a blind call.

I would say they are talking ********

THe Fabia vRS is one of the most popular models they have produced, there have been spy shots posted on Briskoda from members located in the czech republic.

Skoda's history shows that the vRS will follow on quite some time after the initial models. Look at the original Fabia vRS it came out in 2003 iirc and the Octavia vRS on the Mk2's was around at the tail end of 2005 again sometime after the initial models where released.

The car industry is all about making money, the Fabia vRS has done that for Skoda and dealers alike, it would be plain stupid of skoda not to replace it.

What's the likelyhood of Skoda not producing a new model VRS Fabia ? Erm .. common sense please.

If a Mk2 Fabia vRS is to be produced, then it's looking like it's gonna be quite a bit pricey.

According to the Mk2 UK prices announced today, the 1.9 TDI Fabia '3' is well over £13,000 OTR!

Mk2 Fabia vRS MAYBE

There's another tenner

Nope, thats the S2000 Rally version.

Question that pops up in my mind is not whether there is/is not a MKII vRS, but why would anyone set foot in horners?

local dealer told me they ARE producing a new vrs, it will be in 2008 and it will have a 2 litre engine in....

there ya go, another rumour!

Reading this + the wil the vRS prices rise thread that in reality there are plenty of vRS's available and some are having trouble shifting them.

For all of you who kept going on and on that the dealer would sell it within the day or the other customer would be making on offer shortly etc etc is all rubbish.

Note As per Autocar this morning the vRS will be a 1.4TSi 140bhp and the 2.0TDI 140 prices are min

Is that really the case, or is that just because the majority of Fabia drivers on here have them which skews the perception?

I have a recollection of seeing some stats that said vRS models account for about 10% of total Fabia and Octavia production.

Will have to see if I can dig out where I found it though!

Well there are 12000 std vRS's and 1000 ltd edition vRS's within the UK.

Ive no idea what the mix of the model is i.e. what % is 1.2 basic spec and what is vRS.

I do however know that 60% of the old Seat Leons were Cupra Models (which included the Cupra R).

I see far more vRS's about than standard Fabias

Trust me a sample based upon your area isnt large eoungh gross it up for the entire number of units sold.

Especially as Skoda announce yearly their sales of each model in their financial results - and it goes down to model by model in the detail. However all you need to do is look for the vRS and then the total and one less the other gives you the amount of all non vRS's sold.

Note though the Fabia came into existance in 2001 the vRS came 2 years later and they ended together - thats one big head start.

I have heard that the 1.4 TSi engine is dog rough
