No Planned Mk 2 Fab vRS

I have heard that the 1.4 TSi engine is dog rough

Not so that GT 170 TSI is though apparently.

Imagine though 140bhp with 45-50mpg & cleaner emmissions it does make a lot of sense especially as the TSi will be cheaper than the TDI it will take many years to recover the higher purchase price with fuel economy.

I have seen some where that the inline R5 TDI engine might be used but with a new 16v head and an output of about 204hp rumour mill running at full speed

I see far more vRS's about than standard Fabias

i see both - sat on my driveway

AND my neighbours just bought a vrs - but his is 2 years old hahaha

Well there are 12000 std vRS's and 1000 ltd edition vRS's within the UK.

Ive no idea what the mix of the model is i.e. what % is 1.2 basic spec and what is vRS.

I do however know that 60% of the old Seat Leons were Cupra Models (which included the Cupra R).

Just out of curiosity. Who provides you with your information?

In motoring press circles that rumour has been mentioned I suppose somebody should ask a new VW Golf GT owner with that engine is really like..

Keep em coming! I can retire!

I heard it'll have lasers and a bee-gun.

The 12000 units were in the Autocar issue where there was the first article about the Ltd Edition with a run of 1000 examples. Hence if you look back at previous posts at the time I was stating its hardly a limited edition as in the UK it will be 1/12 of all vRS sold and thats 8.33% quite significant.

I recall stating at the time that BMW had made an E34 limited edition with the Nurembourg suspension pack and other goodies yet that was only 50 examples and clearly that is a limited edition.

limited just means there is a finite number. It could be a run of 10,000 but because a definite number has been given, it's still "limited Edition"

now, with it being 8.whatever% of a total number, you might have a case for saying it's not "special" enough to be a Special Edition.

Basically its a mainstream model.

And thats good news as more people will have the chance of ownership at some point during the lives of these cars.

I hope that the new vRS when it comes out doesnt make the current one look too dated - a problem the Golf/Passat have in bucket loads.

I've heard the new Fabia VRs will have a V12 5.3 litre 512bhp engine with 4 wheel drive.

Any truth in that ? ;)

Hi,

I was wondering if you could confirm when the Skoda Yeti would go into production, and if there was an estimated price for this? I am looking to replace my Fabia VRS at the moment and would like to know the timescales involved.

Also, Is there confirmation of the new Fabia VRS availability yet?

Thanks! :)

Dear Mr RichVRSEnvy

Thank you for your email.

I can advise you that at present there is not a production date for the Skoda Yeti and the vehicle remains a concept car.

We are currently awaiting information regarding the new Fabia vRS to be released from the factory.

May I recommend that you continue to monitor the “What’s New” section of the Skoda web site at Škoda UK - Home Page and liaise with your nearest Skoda retailer. For your convenience your nearest retailer is:

We shall see eh? :)

To be honest I think Skoda will lose customers with this policy of secrecy, me being one. I would buy a MK2 Fabia VRs if I knew when it is being released and its spec of course but as things are, I will instead be looking at a MK2 Leon.

thats just your opinion i think the mk4 golf is the best looking one they ever made.

yes the chief designer rang me this morning to confirm this:D

my money is on the new vrs having the v10 tdi out of the toureg and the option of a w12 engine out of the pheaton. yer yer dream on

Mk 1 GTI , Mk 2 GTI 3 door or Mk5 GTi FSI-T 3 Door (in white) for me! The Mk4 GTI doesnt look different enough to the rest of the range , even the MK3 GTI that was so derided as being fat and slow , still looks like a GTI compared to the rest of the range , something VW has sorted with the MK5.

Squealer on saturday stated categorically (sp) that the se run will not extend and that the new vRS was not due untill 2009 at the earliest

will there finally be a combi version :D with the 170tdi and 4wd or will that step on audi's toes too much.......

Sure  The Mk 3 will be out soon after the Mk 2 Vrs then ?

Drive the deal again Jon?

There is always the risk they will greedy, over-price it, and kill the market. Then we

How about the about-to-be-released 140 h.p. Kia Ceed? Road tests credit the 1.6 diesel 115 h.p Ceed with a remarkable performance

I had one on their 3 day test drive - I must say its a very nice car indeed very VW like in build quality, doors really thunk shut.

The 5 year warrenty is fantastic and then of course you have an extra 2 years warrenty on the engine and gearbox!! I cannot see many people at all remapping and losing that.

I'd say its well worth buying as a 2nd car tiny servicing costs and just keep it for 7 years then if its worth anything sell on or just scrap it - that way depn would work out to be roughly
