New Fabia - Not nice. Nuff said.

Well okay then, I can't see anything appealing about it - It would have been so nice to see something slick, some thing with smoother lines - less bubblecar.

It just doesnt appeal and I cant see it selling too well. Yes some people will buy it and existing fabia owners will go for it but wouldn't it have been nice to see something that just looked cool and appealed to the younger driver as well - something futuristic maybe. I would have loved to see something more akin to the Honda Civic than the Nissan Micra (which incidentally is a lovely little car to drive but looks like you're in a leatherback turtle on wheels)

Now we have the the roomster (Vanster) and the Fabia Bubblecar - IMHO of course -

Skoda can't please everyone I suppose - that includes me. Maybe the VRS version will be Bang on.

I cant beleive how similar the new fabia is to other skoda models. It shares engines with the roomster and the same interior. how pointless.

I beleive skoda are turning into Vauxhall, all cars the same just different height and width.

Skoda needs to be careful on pricing as well, new fabia aint cheap compared to current fabia equilivents, i.e 100bhp tdi comfort compared to 105bhp tdi fabia 2.

Joyster and Yeti look promissing yet are 3 years away and will be a hike in price. not spec yeti 5 door i have told will be 20k.

From the comments here and having shown a few pictures to various friends, you either don't care for the design or think it's ok. Think they lost something in the design and is too much 'Roomster' at the front IMHO.

Thats something to with standarisation, if they made very individual cars, production costs would increase and, of course the sale price.

Its not suprising the front of the Fabia looks a lot like the Roomster, its the new family face of Skoda. From what i've seen the Superb 2 looks very much the same.

Having spotted the new Fabia earlier this week I really like it and i'm sure it will sell well. Wouldnt buy one myself but thats not to say it isnt a good car.

I would agree, I like the new fabia, it should sell well, I wouldn't buy one either, but I just hope and prey that the vRS will be good looking, i.e. stands out like the current one.

This is getting rediculous. How many more topics do we need bashing the new Fabia? Yes the overal concencous on this forum is that it's ugly but do we have to keep going over the same subject.

Anyone who actually may like the car will avoid coming here as the overwhelming presence of hate towards the car is rediculous. If you don't like it, do we REALLY need ANOTER topic about it?

The old Fabia isn't exactly stylish. Some people think it is and yes it's a nice car, simply and concervative. The new car keeps it safe but adds more curves and angels and the interior looks like a huge step in terms of design and quality.

If the new Fabia had arrived before the Roomster I doubt it would be getting as much stick as it is.

Apart from a handful of topics in the section with information about the car, the rest are just heartless, negative posts about a car you've never even seen on the road! Yes it doesn't look like a current Fabia VRS, yes it looks like the Roomster, yes it has a resemblence to the Swift. But you've got to praise Skoda for actually moving on, developing new cars and trying out new ideas.

If you hate it that much why don't you just stick to the other Fabia forum?

Whilst I agree with you that we don't need lots of topics bashing it, I do hate the idea of not being allowed to not voice concern over looks.

Your point about the older Fabia not being stylish but ok etc is spot on, but it had an appeal to a broad market really, I just wonder if the new Fabia will have that broader appeal.

In reality, the previous generation Fabias overall ability should mean the new Fabia generates plenty of sales.

Hi there

This is my first official post, I'm not a skoda owner as yet, but reading about about the new fabia in what car I am quite impressed with it, at first I was not taken on the styling of the car at the front, but after looking on the skoda website I am quite impressed with the car.

I am in the next few months going to buy a new fabia, I have been in a fabia before as a passenger and quite impressed with it.

The interior looks a lot classier than the old one looking at pics in what car but they do say that the plastics are quite hard and shiny but looks well put together.

Cheers

David

Go for a test drive in a roomster, same interior and front.:)

  • 2 weeks later...

just to let yea all no the new fabia is built on the same platform as the roomster but uses the same suspension as the old one.

Lummox, assuming u saw the new fabia @ same place iv just seen it (Volkswagen Technical, Wymbush?) then yup gotta agree they actually looks very good and interior looks fantastic.

Well, everyone has an initial reaction but give it time and the chance to see more of it. I didn't like the original Furby at all when it came out, and thought the interior / dash was particularly :pants: . But now I has one and think it's  !!

Never thought id say it, but in the flesh it looks brill.

Does that mean the the Rear ARB is the same size??

Some vehicles just don't photograph well -- but look fantastic in the Metal.

Here ye go....

The main gripe with the new Fabia is starting price. For that money it'll have to compete with the very best super minis. I wonder how many of those who don't like the looks are owners of the old model? Once they start filling the streets our eyes will adjust to the new lines no doubt.

I like the look of the Black Fabia3 TDi

I think that the front is the worst part of it, but overall I don't see what the fuss is about. It looks smart, grown up, yet definitely still a Fabia (albeit with a healthy dose of Suzuki Swift!)

Fair enough, sporty it isn't... it is slightly longer but a fair bit taller than the current one. It remains to be seen what the vRS looks like though! I own a Fabia but I'd be the first to admit its not much of a looker, although the vRS improves things greatly. However, if I compare boggo base model of the original to the new one, the new one looks a bit smarter I reckon.

Quality is fantastic, which only points to next polo being EVEN better! Gotta be seen in flesh photos dont do it justice.

:) Looks quite nice in the red version, it looks better from certain viewpoints, the biggest test though will be actually driving one and see how it compares to the previous version

Lots of piccies of a black one here (interesting ones parked next to an old Fab too): AUTO.CZ - Nov

It still sits too high on its suspension. Why do they set them up like this:confused:

Tis the trend, I was driving down the motorway following an identical car to mine and we were overtaken by an 07 Astra - OMG it looked like it was twice the size
