"Lights Failure" warning on Maxidot

Featured Replies

I've had this message coming up on my Superb since the day I bought it. Two dealers failed to find problem, but Brooklyn Skoda (Rugby) have found a problem and have ordered a new part.

The car has Xenon's and the problem was to do with the levellers. I even suggested this to the other dealers, and they just came back with "No Fault Found" The warning would only appear on a motorway after about 6 miles. Having thought about it, the place this mostly happens is just after Corley services on the M6 where there is a bit of a hill - maybe the error appears because I've just moved off a relatively flat section and onto an incline, the hill causing the levellers to do what ever they're supposed to do  (Or not in this case :D )

Once the part has been fitted I'll post to say whether or not this has resolved the problem.

Posting this thread in case anyone else gets this problem in the future. I had previously searched Briskoda, and couldn't find another occurance of this warning message.

Drove the car on the M6 this morning past Corley Services where the "Lights Failure" warning comes on without fail. This morning there was no error :D

If you therefore get this error message and you have Xenons, get them to check out the levellers. Unfortunately I've no idea how much this cost as it was done under warranty.

I had this message appear about a month ago and feared the worst. I've heard horror stories around here about changing bulbs on the Superb. I had three bulbs blow at once(non Xenon)and I took it straight to the dealers who did the jobs for a tenner.!!

No complaints.

Dread to think the cost of those Xenon levellers!!

Hi, had the same fault with my superb. Dealer fixed the fault, 3/4weeks later back it came. Back todealers this time found water in the boot which got into the wiring loom. If lights failure comes on again check for water.Len
