Hi,

I`m from Portugal and I changed the tyres from 205/50/17 to 225/45/17 on my Octavia RS, the problem is that the Skoda in Portugal did not agree with that change.

In Portugal it`s necessary to ask to Skoda authorizathion for the new tyres because it`s mandatory to have it in the oficial car document.

I don`t know if this situation is similar in another countries...

What I would like to know is, if exists someone with the tyres 225/45/17 registered in the oficial car document or somebody know about the Skoda launched in a few countries the RS with 225/45/17 from the factory.

They were never released that way from the factory, but you get a cheaper tyre with more choices and better grip as its wider.

we can fit what ever tyres we want in the uk so we dont have the same issue as you
