With even more apologies to gadgetman (I think he might have given up on this thread now) I write my posts in a preformatted WORD doc as it saves a bit of time with using Font, colour and size in the Brisky text box and also tend to quote and edit in the advanced editor so you don’t see the quote marks anyway:P :P . I assume you meant the multiple quote thingys?

Tesco 99 is the good stuff in my usual neck of the woods! Over here [Georgia US for now] they are all going mad because their 'gas' is now equivalent of about 1.60p a gallon - they should try jolly ol' England, eh?

By the way, the car I'm driving is cr*p - a Chrysler Sebring, 0-60 is about next breakfast time and it looks like something out of a kid's cartoon. Stick to our Octys or better I think!

In an attempt to keep this thread on topic, I've only filled my car up with Shell Optimax, apart from one tank full of Tesco's 97 unleaded cause I can't find any that do 99 unleaded. Only problem is its now over a quid a litre for super unleaded

My fuel flap also says 95 in big letters, so assume it can run on the weaker stuff but I'd rather not.

Just in case it matters, my car is a MY 07 vRS so maybe someone techy could tell us if they changed the engine management program to cope with 95?

I think 95 RON is the lowest octane rating the car is still guaranteed to work ok. They put it on for those who go to the far yonders of the world where fuel isn't necessarily the same quality / octane rating as it is in Europe. When I was in Bahrain last year, the "super unleaded" quality is 95. The normal stuff is lower Damn, I can almost remember the names. One of the grades was Mumtaz, but the other slips my mind. Bas??

My rental heap here runs on 87 !!! Feels like it is chugging along on a mixture of paraffin and water.

Top grade at local pumps is 93.

And we all know there's nothing worse than squirting before you're near the hole........ I think you can get medication for that!!
