Uprated turbo and FMIC

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm currently looking to increase the power of my car as I'm getting 'used' to it now... :)

Currently running a Revo remap and have a Sachs 4-paddle clutch so the clutch is ripe for a power upgrade...

A mate of mine went to Allard last week and has planted this seed in my head lol. I'm looking at the VNT2 turbo with Allard's own FMIC and their remap to make the most of the mods. I understand this should probably get me to around 220bhp or so. Apart from brakes is there anything else that I should be looking to upgrade as part of this transformation? Are there any serious weaknesses in the engine/drivetrain that should be addressed at the same time as the mods?

Cheers!

Nick

A Peloquin or Quafe ATB would be a good idea to get the power down innit clart.:P Also modifying or replacing the exhaust would help things along.

Oops sorry, meant to say I'd be getting a Milltek system :) . The air filter and pd160 air intake is already done too.

plus if you havent already got some, get some decent rubber or you could end up on your roof

Does this mean you have my old turbo on finally?

Unfortunately not, but it's top of my list of thing to do. :D

If you haven't already, at least get a set of 312mm stoppers on there! Can't even begin to contemplate how the std ones would fair running that sort of power

Depends what wheels your running, standard lasted 3 times as long as 312's and worked better for longer with KW suspension. ( went through 2 sets of 312's in 2 months )

What 312 pad/disc combo were you running? And did you go back to 288s afterwards? I certainly wouldn't entertain the 288 setup using OEM discs and pads.

If I had to keep the 288 size I would change the calipers to the golf/octy ones and use uprated pads.

Would Audi TT 312mm brakes fair well enough? Will they fit under my 16" Porsche wheels? I'm running Good Year Eagle F1 rubber so they ain't too bad. :)

Josh had 312's under his design 90's.

I had 312s under standard Golf GTI 16s. :) "just" ;)
