Detalied the Furby

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

After detailing bros car the other day:

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/styling-car-care/detailed-bros-car-not-skoda-sorry/79951/

I decided to do the furby. Although I've been using the two bucket method, the car has been washed by the dealer a few times witha crappy sponge and washed in a hurry by myself too. As a result there was a lot of holograming and marring on the car, especially the bonnet and rear bumper.

So I washed the car with Autoglym Shampoo and using the two bucket method and a lambswool mitt. Then I clayed it witht he Meguiars Quick Clay and Quick Detailer. The Porter Cable came out and I used an orange 4" pad and Meguiars Scratch X all over the car (PC set to slowest speed). I was amased at how easily the marring was removed. It didn't seem to dull the paintwork too much either.

Then I used Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine with a Sonus 6" white pad and went over the whole car (PC set to max speed). This brought back the shine and darkness of the paint. After this the Zymol HD Cleaner was applied and then finished with Zymol Carbon (two coats as per before). Finally I went over the whole car with Meguiars Quick Detailer to make sure all the wax had been buffed properly.

I didn't do anything to the wheels apart from apply Autoglym Instant Tyre Shine, as the wheels need to be refurbished (thanks National Tyres for funking up two wheels).

I'm planning on washing the car when I'm back from uni and applying another two coats of wax. Need to clean the interior and windows too. But here's the results:

Yes its the Que car park in town. Was going to get pictures indoors too as the lighting brings out good effects but it was all full on that day for some reason. Normally one or two floors are completely empty

That's absolutely stunning, TOP JOB!
