Cleaning Dash?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I've had my VRS about 6 months now and it's about time I cleeaned the interior - just wondering what the best thing to clean the dash with is? I'm concious that it's matt as opposed to shiny so I don't want to apply anything that will mess it up and make it reflect on the screen, but I do want to give it a good clean.

Any suggestions?

Sounds boring and obvious, but I've always just used water. I find the dash doesn't get dirty as such, just dusty. It's what you use that makes the difference. I found some towelling would get into the texture and then finish off with a clean dry paintbrush to get into the vents and other tricky bits...

Thanks for the fast reply - I'll give that a go tomorrow night if I get the chance. You're right about the dust - there's loads of it!

just some diluted all purpose cleaner and a microfibre cloth job done

I've used baby wipes in the past. Don't seem to have done any harm!

I just use some lemon smelling interior wipes, not the ones that leave it shiny.

From new always used water and a Microfibre cloth , cleans it well and keeps the Matt finish . Always found that oce u use a cleaning agent they always end up losing the matt sheen .

I usually shammy the car, wipe over the dash with the leather and then do the door shuts. As it is damp it works well, and as long as it is clean, doesn't streak or shine anywhere. Yes I do pressure/hose spray the shammy clean again once done.
