2008 Spec Octavia

Featured Replies

The word Brilliant you see on top is the new colour for Skoda. Octavia will have it from week 37. It looks like White metallic.

Is this it?

It says Brilliant Silver.

Did you happen to notice where the CD changer was on the new Fabia - It looks like an afterthought.

Yep, not keen on that at all, gives the gf far too much influence over the choice of music! It really does look like an add on. I'm keen to see a fully specced one in the flesh tbh.

And its one car that REALLY doesn't suit black at all. Like the blue with a white roof, but I couldn't hack all the "mini wannabe" comments

Like the look of the icy grey...

So Brilliant Silver takes over from Diamond Silver in June/July 2007

Strange they should make a car colour for just a couple of months (for New Fabia) - but then I suppose they might share paint booths and certainly suppliers across the model ranges.

That's a shame I was looking forward to a "mother-of-pearl" type white metallic like the old Audi coupe;

Well Carl, sadly an English to Czech translator does not help! I can't blame you if you could not get into the site, but its quite amusing.

I have previously tried using this Czech to English translator on several pages in the Czech site, and it translated about 1 in 10 of hte words on hte page. I've spent a good deal of time trying to find an online translator, and most links actually came back to this web site. We need a real person!

ewwh ... not sure about that:

But it's definitely a "mild" facelift, just looks like a crappy aftermarket bumper kit.

Surely that vehicle must be being used for some form of mechanical testing if the hub mounted sensors are being used?

Pretty sure it said brake testing in the article.

I think they are testing component for the new Superb.

After the brake test they do the famous Skoda "Bag-O-Sand" test - where they see how many bags of builders sand or ballast it takes to do wheelies ... almost there ;) .

Thats partly correct, the hatch will be full of heavy items to maximise the load on the brakes during the test. The car is proberbly loaded to the max GVW for the rear axle.

... yeah, but you've got to admit it's mostly funny :D

I know that Czech translation has been raised as a bit of a problem for us all but can anyone please put me out of my misery and explain what this link is saying? The facelift appears to have a new front bumper - but I can't see any other obvious changes...

The main difference is the revised front bumper. That and the six bags of cement in the boot!

I am fairly sure the 2008 Octy will have a revised rad grille like the one fitted to the Roomster and facelifted Superb.

Thread merged, same topic.

I miss my parking ticket holder. My windscreen got cracked by a stone, and the replacement does not have the holder. Now I'm back to sticky bits on the windscreen - how old fashioned!

The ticket holder isn't part of the windscreen, it screws onto the a pillar with a self tapping screw.

Yep they are about 70p to buy. Had to replace mine after it broke.
