2008 Spec Octavia

Featured Replies

Anyone know what the changes are on the 2008 MY? It was covered a little in the 'Alcantara Thread' but I wondered if anyone had insider knowledge as to the changes.

I am keen to know what the spec is and also when to order to grab a 2008 MY car.

I'm putting my money on curtain airbags as standard as most competitors have them now.

I phoned SUK this afternoon and was told that there were no differances - I'm not sure I believe that. Also told that build started this week for them, I do believe that.

I think that maxidot may well be standard too... ;)

For what it must cost them to fit it I see no reason for it not to :)

So, if I ordered a vRS last week and my ordered L&K hasn't been made yet does that mean both cars could be MY08's? If so it'll be interesting to see if any of the options I have paid for are standard :rubchin:

I would think so. I think Skoda normally make changes in May and hence the deals on the 2007MY Octavia vRS.

Hmm left pic might mean another cigrette lighter socket!

It could be 12v plug socket in the boot?

Little feature I had in my Leon Cupra R but sadly not present in my Octy.

The other pciture looks like the cap that goes over a windscreen washer bottle.

..but with what looks like a power plug logo on it. I wonder if there are offering an additional 12v / laptop charging socket type thing.

Aren't they dropping the 2.0FSI in favour of the 1.8TFSI?

Also heard something when last at dealer about maxidot and MFSW being standard on the Elegance, and the VRS getting the MFSW steering wheel. Also the L&K getting xenons & front parking aid as std?

Could all be sales BS tho.

Scout and 4x4 will still have 2.0FSI.

Doesn't that only apply from orders from this point forward though, rather than pre-existing?

That's how I was lead to beleive as mine was built during a change to std spec, yet mine has the spec as detailed in the brochure which was out when ordered.

Given that Skoda UK have only just updated their Octavia brochure on the website to brag about JD Power Results as well as detail the Scout and "New" L&K is it not likely that this brochure will also show the MY2008 changes if any? (of which I can't see any changes in spec from previous years, especially with regards to Maxidot and Curtain Airbags). It would seem a bit silly to bring out a new brochure if you were imminently changing specs to match some of the rumours flying around here!

Brochure Here

This would certainly be in line with what they told Stu. I would imagine that small changes between model years won't make it into the brochure and won't be known by your average dealer, or be of super significant importance such as the power socket. E.g. I didn't loose too much sleep when I found out my work colleagues 02 Octy Elegance Estate has a parking ticket holder on the A-Pillar and my Y reg doesn't...

I miss my parking ticket holder. My windscreen got cracked by a stone, and the replacement does not have the holder. Now I'm back to sticky bits on the windscreen - how old fashioned!

According to a dealers NSR (factory order process) calendar Skoda New Model Year MY2008 starts last week of May 2007.

The new brochures only came out in first week of May so unlikely any other changes not in brochure. Incidentally I notice that vRS PD170 has gone up by

Don't know about 2008 MY, but sometime in the 2008 calender year the Octy will be facelifted, incorperating the newer style grille now seen on the Fabia and recently facelifted Superb.

In Sweden you can order 1.8T FSI from 25/6 but 2.0 FSI will still remain until 24/9

1.6 FSI will be replaced by 1.4 TSI 122 hp

The word Brilliant you see on top is the new colour for Skoda. Octavia will have it from week 37. It looks like White metallic.
