BP Ultimate Diesel in North East England

Featured Replies

OK, in the unlikely event I'll encounter anyone who actually knows the answer to this, where on earth can you get this stuff in the North East. I have now tried 3 garages as directed by BP Ultimates website, and was not amused to find that none of them actually sell Ultimate Diesel, Ultimate petrol yes. You would think they would have the decency to tell you where you can and cant get diesel on their website, but obviously not.

So does anyone know, because I am beginning to wonder if it even exists.

Don't bother. I've found that in areas where Shell Diesel Extra is being sold Ultimate diesel is very difficult to come across. I' recommend shell Diesel extra over BP ultimate even though I haven't tried ultimate just because Shell's price is the same as Regular diesel.

If its as "good" as the Petrol version i wouldnt bother, no different to the old super u/l as far as i can make out.

I dunno, I always felt my old car ran much better on optimax, smoother and better economy.

Flyingscot, have you observed any difference between the shell diesel extra and normal stuff?

I'm on my 3rd tankfull and economy is much better. I'm currently on 300 miles using a half tank of fuel. :D

It appears smoother and a little bit more responsive too.

Thx flyingscot, I could not find a garage that sold Ultimate so I gave up. Its much easier to find Diesel Extra up here so I just got a tankful of that instead.

When I actually thought BP ultimate would make a difference for me, I also really struggled to find it, and only ever got two tankfuls which I was running on when Jabba'd and also on the way to Duxford Meet. Basically, unless every DAMN BP station stocks BP Ultimate in both forms I'm not going to pay any attention to it... Also, they'd better lower the price a bit! 83.9 for it local to me last time I noticed!

At least the Shell stuff costs the same price as regular diesel :)

I was referring to BP Ultimate..

Optimax is a different matter entirely, i run the car on nothing else unless i really have to. Hence the occasional use of Ultimate / SUL. ;)

I've found Shell have started doing Extra in the South-east and so BP are getting no more cash from me! BP are going to have to stop charging the premium for their equivalent now.

Trust me Faye you won't regret it. Economy seems to be drastically improved.
