Work Web addy stickers and Insurance....

Featured Replies

And they wonder why people drive round with no insurance!!

Plus the silly high prices:rolleyes:

So does this silly rule include organisations? ie, the racing club that Im a member of (but not an official) is classed as an organisation. I did used to have a sticker advertising it in the window. Would this have meant I was being naughty?

Also, there is some comittee members with the stickers in the windows (one member has 6 in his car  ), is he being a very naughty boy?

Silly silly rule made my silly silly men who failed common sense school

Nope I still think they don't have a leg to stand on.

Do all employees with parking get the sticker with the name on and a parking space or was it a use this sticker get the space for free rather than paying and a normal permit?

Their logic would mean the NHS parking permits would require business insurance as they advertise the NHS site.

Crazy, get the complaints department involved in writing and by registered post now, and also get the ombudsman involved. I would also threaten watchdog etc.

Nearly all parking permits have details on and d/line etc give away tax disk holders with all their details on.

I think this is a member of staff making a bad call IMHO.

it wasnt a parking permit that was the problem..... it was a seperate sticker that was in the back window and all it had was the company web address on and logo in white text on a blue background so that the security staff could identify without going between the cars which company the car's owner worked for if they needed to contact the owner (a few companies shared the car park and each had different coloured stickers) he has gone to the ombudsman about this ....

as for stickers for clubs, orginisations etc as you are not employed directly by thes and are a member i guess this doesnt affect that....

the problem is that the company the guy wors for uses the internet for selling things and this guy is directly employed by the said company....

Id like to see the insurance company tell the 50+ teachers at my college that their insurance is invalid due to their parking permits doubling as advertising

can i have this thread closed?

I still don't think even with that the insurance company has a leg to stand on.

I'd be taking them through the ombudsman for this. A web address sticker does not count as business use unless the policy docs clearly state that any advertising for your employer means you are advertising.

The sticker in the rear, as you state was there as an aid to the guys checking the parking permit.

As the thread is yours, your wish is command.
