Hi all.

I have something to pick your brains with here.

Since getting my remote locking to work i have thought that i would like some visual feedback that the doors have locked/unlucked (i.e. indicators flashing).

They dont flash like they should as the alarm which controls this feature was removed by a garage for the previous owner.

Would i be able to take a live from a door actuator and feed that into a relay that would feed a live into hazard light switch and activate it while the motors were working (probably long enough to flash them quickly once).

I suggested using a relay because otherwise when the hazard switch was on it would feed a live back to the door motor.

Would it not be easier to get a new alarm, plus you will have the bonus of being alarmed.

right, so far as i can tell from quickly looking at the wiring diagrams it cant be done:O

well, it can be done BUT. every time used you use the indicators the doors would lock and unlock in time with the indicators.... so the only way to do it would be to fit an aftermarket relay which is a right royal pain up the jacksee of a job to do for 'fun'

I dont realy see that it would be that hard to fit a relay... just fit it in somewhere behind or near the hazard switch and then feed the live from the switch to the relay and then back to the other side of the switch, then have a live coming from the door motor to activate the relay so that as the power comes from the relay it in effect is just activating the hazard switch as the circuit is being completed round the switch.

I suggested the relay as i knew that doing it without would cause the problem you said with the doors locking/unlocking.

dont forget, if yo fit a relay it must be fused as well

You mean fuse the live coming from the relay or fuse the live into it?

erm... fuse the live output from the relay
