New DVD based Sat Nav ?? TRINAX

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if this will be retrofittable? /crystal ball

Also has anyone solved the MFD2 / Aux socket problem (grounding)?

How do Skoda connect this at the factory if you order Jumbo Box and SatNav?

Until somone with a factory MFD2 gives us the info we'll not know how they connect it.

Surely there must be a way finding this out, are there any forums worth investigating Stu?

Feel free mate but It takes time to troll through them and keep translating stuff.

Just found this from a Czech based forum, looks interesting...................

Thanks troll :D

Did you get a look at the back though (or a simple wiring diagram will do)?

As seen in a Superb I think.................................

I'll ignore the first comment :(

Having a look at various sites to see what we can find but no wiring diagrams as yet.

oh I'm sorry ... it's a term of endearment really ;)

in fact the second comment was pretty tongue-in-cheek as well !

The power of any forum is the aggregation or hundreds or thousands of people's knowledge (or opinions) - although admittedly it's usually a handful of the usual suspects (ie "experts") ;)

We all have different experiences and have spent time on our own specific "research" either consciously or through serendipidy.

So I was more making fun of VRStu, as if you don't ask you don't get - more often than not someone actually knows the answer to a seemingly impossible question or problem.

The power of the internet is all our connected brains - it's like the Matrix

That picture of the Superb looks like it was taken in the factory.

Doesnt' Lem have a factory fitted mfd2?

Yep, I do. After reading stuff on here I didn't think I'd still get the aux socket, but it's definitely there. I haven't tried it with my ipod yet - might be something to try before anyone gets too excited!

As per original question: if MFD2 is supplied with AUX socket (and CD changer?) - how do the factory connect them up - is there a new connector block to get around grounding (hissing audio) issues?

A hatch superb?

Are we sure it's not a facelift Octy? Looks Octy sized to me

Makefish, that MFD3 looks like it has a SIM card slot at the bottom.

I believe it does, along with a 40Gb hard drive!

Any facelift on the Octavia will be a mild mid life refesh at best. This is far too much for a facelift.

Isn't the "MFD3" rumoured to have a memory card slot in it? IMO the sim card method of hands free is a PITA. A plain bluetooth integration it the sensible way to go.

The new RNS 510 will, according to a few german boards, not be compatible with our CANbus.

A newer CANbus version (vers. 2) will be necessary to make it compatible. Whether they will come with an CAN adapter or not is still a question.

Fact is, in Germany, the newer Touran is already in the configurator with the optional RNS 510 (the RNS500 will be the Touareg version, more rectangular).

It will have a memorycard slot (a seen on the posted pics). Also it has a touchscreen. And is MP3 compatible (at last).

This all is information I read in different German boards!

Off topic 'Superb' stuff now moved to a new thread.

Found this video of some of the features, looks pretty cool imho...........................
