My First Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

This is my first post here.

I am ordering my first Octavia tomorrow (

Welcome

You will know what Maxidot is when you get it :)

Is it fitted as standard to the Elegance or is it an addon option.

I will need to tell the Dealer if I want it.

I also seen a website with what looked like a really nice radio display as opposed to the standard green background. The display on the site looked like a full colour display.

Hi and welcome to briskoda, For info on Maxidot best ask Makefish

Is there any photos of Maxidot???

Or other information. I have searched ever where and can't find a thing on it

Makefish may not have Maxidot but at least he has more go than show :)

The Irish Elegance it is not coming with Maxidot (my 07):(

But I think it is loaded with resonable extras in standard version.

1.9 diesel will be a better buy no?

1.6 (not FSI) Auto/Tip Elegance model in Graphite Gray Metallic.

Hello and Welcome:)

Is Graphite still available in Ireland? Discontinued in UK. The replacement colour is Anthracite. Hard to see the difference unless side-by-side.

hi and welcome to briskoda.. graphite grays an excellent colour if u can still get it. :D check out the irish meets sect.. 1 on 9th june.. ;)

Thanks irin

I still don't know what maxidot is as no one has explained it :)

can you tell me what the full spec on the Elegance is as the website don't give much information.

As for the 1.6 v 1.9D

I'm not gone on diesel. I like the quite of the petrol engine.

Pop maxidot in the forum search - there has been lots of info in the past, even a few photos. Or try Yahoo/Google and type skoda maxidot into them and search for a photo.

I have maxidot and I like it - adds some class to the dash!

I managed to find a link to it here in the forum.

Adobe Web Photo Gallery

If anyone else is looking for it.

I am going to contact the dealer and ask is it fitted to the Elegance as standard.

Its supposed to have a trip computer and so on. So I can't see why not??

In saying that, this is Ireland.... a steering wheel is considered an extra here.

Off the top of my head, maxidot has:

trip

odo

miles left on current fuel

average mpg

journey time

with DSG it shows what gear you are in

it can show the radio info

it controls functions like auto lock, coming home light duration and other features if fitted to your car like window close when it rains

I think you may have seen a picture of a car fitted with the combined CD/Radio/SatNav unit, which does indeed have a colour screen. This will be an optional extra that you would need to order if you want it.

Just placed my order for my first Skoda (after ten years of Renault driving)

I also went for the Maxidot and MF steering Wheel.

The wife convinced me to go for the Graphite Gray. I was going for the silver (Been driving silver cars for over 8 years now)

Here is the spec I am going for:

Model: Octavia II (Elegance)

Engine: 1.6 Automatic/Tiptronic

Colour: Graphite Grey Metallic (Finally settled on this colour)

Interior: Onyx

Extra's:

Maxidot Computer

Multifunction Leather Steering wheel

The Maxidot and steering Wheel cost €347.00 extra

Worth it I think.

Hi and welccome to the skoda family - seeing as I have just left Skoda ownership might seem funny me saying welcome but am sure you will really enjoy your new car.

Check out your PM - have sent you msg

Bryan

I thought once you have a DSG auto, the maxidot display is 'standard'? ....anywho enjoy the car!!

In most countries it would.... but this is Ireland :)

VRT strips lots of extras out of cars here.

Just got word back from Skoda that the Graphite Gray is now Anthracite Gray.

They said there is not much difference in the colour.

There is a dif, but it's very slight. I sought a dealer which had both when I picked, and found the anthracite looks better.

Got the 2.0FSI Elegance, MFSW + Maxidot, curtain airbags, tyre pressure monitor, comehome/light assist and 17" pegasis.

Posted a pic recently....

Your getting me all excited now :)

I have to post off the deposit tomorrow. The car was ordered Tuesday, or thats what they tell me. I hope he is not holding off until he gets the cheque.

I sent the order to him via email so he would have it in writing.

They seem nice enough.

I'm dealing with Martin in Phoenix Motors in Bluebell.

Anyone got any feed back??

Many of these are of course supplied on the standard display. It's really the last item that makes it different.

PS Collected the new Octavia on Saturday - No problems at all so far - well, only learning all the features!
